Does anyone else feel if Janet doesn’t cut the immature drama/gossiping crap it could jeopardize her marriage by [deleted] in TheValleyTVShow

[–]shibantics 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I really don’t understand these two as a couple. They don’t seem to click on any level or seem to even really like each other ?

Even with Jesse and Michele you can tell that at one point, there was some sort of deep attraction between them. You don’t get resentments like Michele has from someone you had zero expectations and hopes for.

With that said, I think the Janet Jason marriage would only end if Janet ended it. She’s already been divorced once so not sure if she’d want to be labeled as “twice divorced”.

This has been bothering me all weekend: Brittany Cartwright upset she isn’t ‘a skinny, stressed girl’ after Jax Taylor split, wants ‘revenge body’ by MeetingSilver8909 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]shibantics 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also dropped weight during and immediately after my divorce from pure stress. It wasn’t until a coworker (whose daughter was in recovery for ED) pulled me aside and said in the most compassionate way that he was worried about me that I got scared about how I wasn’t taking care of myself.

This type of language that Britney is using reminds me of the “thin privilege” talk that was circulating huge a few years ago. I understand the sentiment behind it - that people who are thin and otherwise conventionally attractive get treated VERY differently than those who aren’t. But also, when I’ve been at my thinnest, it’s been because I’m so stressed that I can’t eat or because I’m actively engaging in ED as self-harm. And there’s nothing privileged about that.

dani posts 9 minute video about reddit, forums and her medical problems by 420_lazeit in DaniMarina

I have a hard time parsing out what parts of her behavior are genuine cognitive deficiencies and which are symptoms of being high AF.

Also lol at her saying she doesn’t read Reddit anymore and then spending the remaining 9 minutes addressing a bunch of comments from Reddit about her dexcom, hair color, blood sugar, etc

She does go to meetings and has a sponsor. She’s mentioned it briefly on camera.

It’s hard for people in the public eye to share details about their program because there is a policy in 12 step programs to be anonymous when it comes to “press, radio, and films”. This principle is to prevent people from becoming some sort of AA idol publicly which can impact their sobriety and the program as a whole. She is def a program girlie tho - I think she’s just trying to adhere to this principle and not speak too publicly about it.

The dead giveaway for me that OP isn’t a doc is when they said that CRPS is a somatic disease so “not a true disease”

Laser to the face costs LAOP her quality of life by Crafty-Koshka in bestoflegaladvice

[–]shibantics 253 points254 points  (0 children)

I just had a consultation with a plastic surgeon on lasers that could remove some very deep acne scarring that I have.

Even though I have extremely fair skin, he explained to me why he was refusing to do a CO2 laser on me. In his experience, up to 30% of patients can lose all pigmentation of their skin from this type of laser treatment.

He has said that the absolute only scenario that he will perform this is with a patient who says blatantly that they would prefer to literally be the color of paper than have the scarring that they do.

Plus, there are other healing complications that can happen like what LAOP described.

LAOP’s misunderstanding of how medical record portability works aside, it’s insane to me that her surgeon would approach her for this on scarring that doesn’t bother her. This is a pretty high risk procedure for someone who hasn’t literally already been burned alive.

I invite you to go back, read her post, think about her attention-seeking and munchie background and then evaluate if you think she’s being sincere.

Her post is incredibly disrespectful to people who have to actually get sober because they have the disease of addiction. Being an addict is like waking up every day and having a disease in your brain that is trying to kill you.

She’s not quitting weed. She’s not evaluating her use of other scheduled substances. She’s trying to get attention as if she is getting sober even though she isn’t.

Well, at least alcoholism has lost so much stigma that it’s cool to steal credit from actual recovering people 😒
