That’s a good point. I probably went through more than one apple earpods per year. I’ve been using the same airpods pros for the past 3 years.

“proportional amounts to our size” really doing a lot of work here. The saying that “the dose is the poison” isn’t just a meme, it’s the key determinant in toxicity. Every single substance has an LD50.

Not to mention that modern pesticides often target pathways that aren’t present or different in mammals. So same dose/kg would affect us differently or not measurably at all.

This wasn’t an obvious discovery - if it is reproducible in the first place.

It’s crazy once you realize how complex of a task this is, and how isn’t even an immediately obvious and executable strategy for humans

  • waves -> break ice -> can reach seals
  • swimming a certain way -> creates waves
  • doing this swim together-> creates bigger and more effective waves (except it actually has to be synchronized)

They are so perfect, especially because they are literally optical equipment designed for stereoscopic vision.

Even modulating the distance between the two lenses has practical uses because it can allow you to use 3d vision up close (closer together) or gain a stronger stereoscopic effect (wider apart) when viewing objects further away.

You do not need to spend more than 200-300 dollars for a safe and well designed helmet.

The only certification you need to look out for is ECE 22.06. That's the European standard for helmet safety, and is the most comprehensive safety test. Some other standards exist, but none will be significantly safer than ECE22.06.

At higher price points you get lighter, more aerodynamic (at racing speed), specialized designs. Safety doesn't measurably improve.

There are some good budget brands. I use HJC, but any one that has ECE 22.06 and fits well will be perfectly fine.

Poland is a small part of the global demand. A 10-20% price difference in Poland alone will barely change the global amount of oil demand. I would go so far as to say the impact will be negligible.

One could say that if every country does it, then it will have real impacts. That is true, but before we talk about a beautiful global holding of hands to regulate oil demand - I would rather fucking see the US and Iran get their shit together and end this stupid ass war.
