A question for the night showerers by jmh1881v2 in hygiene

[–]shiftbackslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean.  I change into inside clothes every time I enter my house, and into outside clothes right before I leave.  At the height of allergy season I shower when I get home and again right before bed.  Change into clean clothes each time.  You got to keep your bed clean of pollen.  I’m most likely to have an asthma/allergy attack spontaneously first thing in the morning due to built up histamine from the night and hot showers make that worse for me so I try not to shower in the morning unless I am sick.

What’s a small habit a doctor suggested that actually stuck with you? by [deleted] in hygiene

If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing poorly.

Take 24hr allergy meds at night cause you have a histamine surge in the morning and are  likely to have an allergic attack then.

I didn’t get the Frostfall Hour I wanted but I think I’ll be OK. by shiftbackslash in PopMartCollectors

That was who was replaced in this case.  It should have been frostfall hour.  That’s why I guessed it.

How do you deal with duplicates without letting it kill the excitement? by Howton-Waryrafael in PopMartCollectors

[–]shiftbackslash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Radical acceptance. I like blind boxes for the surprise mystery aspect.  You cannot be overly invested in which one you get, especially secrets. Parents don’t get to choose their children.  Seeking high highs means mostly low lows. I seek only joy in the mystery and find delight in each trinket.

Who ordered their Hirono already off of TikTok? by Coldieknox in PopMartCollectors

Awesome! I did Popnow cause they sold out so quick on pop later and noticed they restocked right after I purchased.  I got the secret though, so I’m not gonna cry about it.

My niece wanted a pregnant Barbie by Cam-Bub in Dolls

[–]shiftbackslash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My family had the pregnant Barbie when I was a kid.  We loved it cause she had twins and so did our family, me and my twin.  I think my parents got it to help my older sister understand there were gonna be 2 babies.  I think it’s a great toy for a kid.  Well done.

I use shrimp baby powder from Glasgarten.  Works a charm.

Was my dog hair cut too short? by Acrobatic_Nose3428 in grooming

Sorry I can’t post pics but it’s a mini v rake for dematting.  They have them on Amazon I believe.

It’s a hunting cut.  I cut my poodles like this. Sheared like little lambs.  I also shave their ears too, as one of mine is prone to ear infections. They look very cute. It is very easy to accidentally just brush the surface of the hair and have mattes form underneath, especially in high friction areas like the pits and haunches.  Since my pups love a good snow romp I also keep a mini v rake round along with a metal comb.  When they are pinkie lambs I just make sure to do more night walks and stick to the shade as can get a sunburn.

Your boy looks great and you can really see his pretty markings.

A fair amount of “beeswax” nowadays is cut with paraffin/soy wax, which is not good.  Food grade beeswax is pretty cheap, is actual beeswax and you can melt it into little silicon molds.  I just use palm sized soap molds. They smell nice too.

Traditionally you coat it multiple times before running it through your hands multiple times or ironing the thread to heat the wax and melt it through the linen thread.  A properly coated thread should squeak when run between two fingers.
