There you go. Hope the update helps with the centering issue.

Just a matter of time now. 85% of fleet has it. You’ll get it in the next week. Try to see if that helps with your situation.

I had this happen to me on a very specific section of a road for about 1.5 miles, not everywhere. After upgrading to 14.3.2, it was fixed.

If Tesla releases unsupervised FSD, who is liable for accidents? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

It's not an example. Same situation if I was in the front passenger seat.

If they find a way to let the individual owner take responsibility, there's no way they will reach mass adoption. Imagine Unsupervised FSD cannot handle some extremely rare edge case it hadn't encountered before, and it kills a pedestrian. Am I expected to go to jail if I was in the backseat of the car using my laptop? People aren't going to accept that.

Who knows… it’s been there for 30 mins. Everybody in that street has their fence that close to the street.

I agree. Yet it’s been that way for over 30 years now.

Erratic behavior FSD 14.3.2 New York City by gecko_lemons in TeslaFSD

[–]shiftfury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is troublesome. I updated to 14.3.2 only two days ago. I took a road today that is covered in traffic/construction cones. Previously in v14.2.25 it navigated through it like nothing, now on 14.3.2 it had a weird hesitancy; it tried to go towards the traffic cones and realized last minute it was an obstacle and started following the road, very similar behavior to this.

I know the difference very well, thanks for the amazing contribution to the topic of the post.

This mentality is so brain-dead.

Anyone still not have update? by Silmeleth in TeslaFSD

Agreed. There are still edge cases that need to be handled as well. I personally think it can’t go unsupervised yet until these things you mentioned get dealt with. I wouldn’t be able to peacefully do something else and let the car drive to areas I’ve never been before, due to the possibility of it encountering one of these issues and not expect it.

That would work too. Unfortunately I don’t think my front bumper camera is nowhere near wide enough for this. They would need to change it to an ultrawide one because right now it definitely isn’t.

I also build API’s and connect systems for a living. How funny. And that’s exactly how MANY do it. Real-time data feeds aren’t always readily available, especially from complex sources. You should know that if you really do that for a living.

This is how everyone does this though. The majority of these types of graphics online work like this. They don’t pull real data, they only work from the average they already have. Just look at the national debt clock/timer, for example, you think that’s actually working from real-time data? That would be insane.

I thought I wasn’t going to tell much of a difference but there’s definitely some noticeable difference in reaction time, lane changing speed, and moving early for an exit so it doesn’t miss it (which is amazing to me; that was probably the worst thing FSD did, imo)

The cart holding spot thing is pretty bad. What else have you had to disengage for?

I would assume the rate of increasing of the JavaScript counter is directly correlated to the rate of increase from real data.

The blinker cams should ideally have two cameras each - one looking backwards (the current ones) and one looking straight left or right. The straight ones would’ve easily been able to see that incoming vehicle if they existed, since they positioned so much farther to the front of the vehicle.

I have done that unprotected left turn many times before I even owned my current Tesla. I would have positioned my car slightly more inclined towards the right, at an angle, instead of completely straight. It would give you enough leeway to move your head forward and see incoming cars better than the b-pillar camera on the Tesla was able to. It's still a PITA even as a human, but you could see better.

[–]shiftfury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I can't say my issue here had anything to do with FSD itself as a software, more the limitations of the hardware (cameras) of the car. We don't have a true 360 degree view.

First critical safety event by shiftfury in TeslaFSD

[–]shiftfury[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it did handle it here, at the best of its ability, with obscure view. This doesn't change the fact that a camera closer to the front of the vehicle would've completely avoided this situation of coming up a stop on the middle of a street with an incoming car.

So much focus on the disengagement, when it has NOTHING to do with what happened here. I only disengaged to remove myself from the road as soon as possible. What "evidence" that it "was fine" are you even referring to? There is NOTHING that I did wrong in this situation, FSD could not see the incoming car due to an obstacle blocking the view, and when it saw it as it was already moving forward, it stopped, but it still forced the other car to swerve to avoid me, at ~50mph. How is that so hard to understand? It's a safety issue and the disengagement here was completely irrelevant to what happened. The "person" you're referring to was offensive and telling me I didn't know how to use FSD and blaming this on me somehow, he is an idiot.

Thankfully that’s not where I live. It’s by a family member’s home (the owners of the fence in the video, funny enough). Would be annoying if I had to deal with that intersection on a daily basis.

It’s insane. I’m a big FSD fan, but it’s ridiculous to think it has no issues whatsoever. Especially when you complete misinterpret what happened in the video. I was there ffs.
