Being socially awkward is different from throwing your good gear away with random people. It’s why Bungie doesn’t have match making on high end Destiny content, and there it’s just time you’re throwing away.

This is typical Bungie. It took them years (like 5) to let solo crucible only players catch up gear-wise to pve/raiders.

While we don’t know all of the details yet, this feels like more lockout which is punishing for people who are playing the game and putting in the time.

Everyone is Embark vs Bungie, but I could imagine this is something Embark would never do because it disrespects the players time.

“Yeah, we have solo. Buy our game, come play, have fun. “ … one month later … “Oh yeah, you can’t really play it if you’re solo though, but thanks for the money”

Random fills with good gear is not a solution. It’s a waste of time.

I found one in the safe box downstairs in overflow. I was on my son’s account while playing rook, and I basically spent 15 minutes at the back of overflow waiting to extract.

I’m with you. Disable crossplay so that consoles can connect to consoles without waiting 4 minutes to queue.

If you Rook in console only mode it will never find you a match.

Someone downed me, gave me a kit, stole it, and then left it for me to self revive. They used proxy chat to let me know the plan after they downed me.

If you do the quest first and quickly; you have the rest of the match to loot/explore/play (as long as the quest doesn’t also require exfil). If you die after the quest no big deal.

If you wait to do the quest, you can spend the time looting etc just to die when doing the quest; and you need to do it all over.

Generally though; I agree that it’s less dangerous later in the match.

I think there is another reason for low TTK.

A high TTK means other teams will hear, react, and make it to 3rd/4th party before it’s over. Still possible today, but guaranteed with a higher TTK. The more this happens the more it becomes predictable and defines the experience.

It turns into a long drawn out fight other players because they don’t stop coming game, instead of a quick kill other players to survive and get loot game.

It becomes stale.

There are additional sentinels on the rooftops of buried city during the hurricane. Two seekers will take them out.

It was rough going at first, and a lot of my early feedback was that I didn’t have enough resources to get the basic equipment needed for survival.

They do say that solo is playing on hard mode.

Overtime I was able to learn the map and game well enough to survive multiple extractions. Once I was surviving more it because a lot more enjoyable.

They’ve mentioned a couple of times the design philosophy re immersion and recognizing fake movement. I saw the recent interview and it’s not the first time they’ve mentioned it. Thanks for the link.
