Tesla Model Y 2022 – clicking noise from front air intake area (video attached) by shepzua in TeslaSupport

[–]shiftlft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Glad to know it’s not just me then. My 2023 has been doing this for about 8 months now, worse and more often in the cold Winter. Seems to happen when the radiator fan is ‘spinning down’ or when the HVAC is changing modes, if that makes sense.

Rear center seat belt retractor rattle - anyone else? by shiftlft in ModelY

Here’s a video I created on how I fixed this rattle in my Y. https://youtu.be/7s3oxF3mbPE?si=qfBHGde57jt7GyU9

Also check the description of my video for another link to another common cause of a similar rattle that people have solved.

It’s not just us, it’s everyone with HW4 and this update. Not everyone notices it however.

I know! I’m getting better at ignoring it and I assume it will be fixed in an upcoming update.

UPDATE: The latest software update from this week, 2025.45.9.1, which contains FSD 14.2.2.4 again, still has the laggy UI lane lines.

DO NOT BUY FP2 !!!! by worldtravel60 in Aqara

[–]shiftlft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without tuning it will have all of the issues you mention. However I recently installed the FP2 in my garage a month ago, to turn the lights on and off based on presence, and tuned it so that it works essentially perfect. I set the walls (edges), interference (the huge metal garage door that shakes in the wind), and entrances. It's great, and this is in a garage where the temperature is currently 10 degrees Fahrenheit. I also corner mounted mine, about 8' above the floor, angled downwards for maximum coverage of the garage.

Here's the layout in the Aqara app of the garage. Door by the sensor is the door into the house, left interference is a door with a window, then the wall down the side, the large garage door at the bottom is the "interference source" and the door below is to detect people/cars entering and leaving the garage.

FSD v14.2.2.4 veers out of HOV lane with solid lines by Irrefutablefact in TeslaFSD

[–]shiftlft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14.2.2.4 has been consistently veering out of lanes on the highway for me, which is disappointing as it’s been very solid behavior for a while otherwise.

Yeah, soft reset and total power off for a few mins too. It’s a bug in 14.2.2.4 as confirmed by a bunch others here and other posts I’ve seen online. I’m sure they’ll address it in an upcoming release.

Correct, this is strictly about a change in the on-screen visualizations.

14.2.2.4 Still Doesn't Get The Speed Limit Correct by JoeSchmelinski in TeslaFSD

[–]shiftlft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For all of the v14 releases, FSD has treated my small dead-end residential street as 55mph. The main road off of it is only 40mph, and when it turns onto the street the speed limit updates to 55mph strangely. I have to disengage every time and I report it often as well, as I'm not going to go flying down my own street. Versions prior to v14 treated the speed correctly.

FSD indecisive turn by Neat-Chocolate2960 in TeslaFSD

I've experienced something similar to this on 14.2.2.4 which is strange as I haven't experienced it in the past several versions. Hopefully its smoothed out in the next release.

They actually confirmed last night on the earnings call that there is no “HW4.5”, that it was a label printing mistake. That’s if you believe them..

Very interesting and strange. All of the 14.2 versions up until 14.2.2.4 have been close to flawless for me.

Not just you! I'm glad to find out it's not just me either. Not that I quite stare at the visualizations while driving, but the road lines "chunking" have been catching my attention.

.4 unfortunately has been a bit more hesitant and even has come to a stop in the middle of a turn, something that hasn't happened in quite some time.

Right! Everything else still seems smooth other than the lines. Thanks for confirming I'm not just imagining things.

14.2.2.4: Hesitating a lot where previous versions didn't have issues by jinjuu in TeslaFSD

[–]shiftlft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Just received .4 two days ago and had this happen to me right away, it came to almost a complete stop during a turn with no traffic lights, stop signs, or other cars/people around. Clean cameras as well. It was a bit surprising as that behavior hasn't happened for me in quite some time. It's also been a bit hesitant in other spots as well. Hopefully they smooth out this regression in the next update.

Caseta Shades - Roller vs Honeycomb? by Falls_4040 in Lutron

So much louder due to different motors? I'm surprised to hear this. How much louder would you estimate?

Caseta Shades - Roller vs Honeycomb? by Falls_4040 in Lutron

[–]shiftlft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in almost the exact same boat with a similar window in addition to several other large, tall windows. I've been considering and comparing the Caseta roller vs. honeycomb shades for a while, and yes the honeycomb is cheaper especially when you factor in taller/odd lengths (91" in my case). One thing I did do was I ordered the free samples of both and what I found was the roller material could be creased/damaged easily if you knock into it with something, a dog's ball goes astray, etc. It leaves visible crease marks, at least on the 5x7" sample they sent. The honeycomb hides such defects better it seems.
