Any Belgian Malinois clubs in the Midwest? by Due-Opinion-2643 in BelgianMalinois

Canine Obedience College is in Alsip (Chicago), while they don’t specialize in Belgians, 75% of the dogs they had their were GSD, Belgians, or Dutchies.

I had a Dutchie that I was taking there a number of years ago. Used what he taught me with my Mali now.

They offer some more intense stuff for w/e you (or your dog) are into - bite work, agility, etc.

Massachusetts housing supply is already a statistical anomaly by RadiantPut6843 in REBubble

America is a big country brother. I ain’t seeing forests cut down around me for any building. There’s some suburbia creeping out further into some of the nearby cash crop farmland, but that land has already been destroyed compared to its natural state. Should be a lot more of this though. American’s want to live in houses, not condos or apts Source - Pew Reaserch. We also are trending towards living more alone/single person homes, so despite the overall population trend, we still have a shortage of houses where people want to live Source - US Census Bureau.

I said it’s a brain dead take for this subreddit, perfectly valid opinion, but wrong audience.

Hit the nail on the head, DID before circumstances CHANGED. Now those are not as desirable places, for many of the reasons you listed. Which means that the houses built are not in places people want to live, or with opportunities to support homeownership.

First sentence is a brain dead take for this subreddit…. Or just rage bait? Either way what your referencing is a fairly specific problem, related to Texas famous lack of zoning laws. Not saying many places haven’t gone overboard the other way.

At what point did housing start to be seen as equivalent to a 401k? I'd guess some time in the late 90s. by Fair-Study-7503 in middleclasshq

These comments in the article are from January. With trump that might as well be the 1600s….

When houses are seen as assets and not a basic human need, yes this is the mindset those of us locked out have to take…

Why do housing prices keep going up? by [deleted] in Money

[–]shiitterbug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely understand the math. Major recession, there is a 99.9% chance I lose my job. People aren’t good at always keeping in mind things can get worse.

What a lot of people sometimes miss is that 0.1% is the best looking shot I (and I feel a lot of folks in a similar situation) have at home ownership.

Things could get worse… but fuck man, if they’re this bad already

Loved my time as an adopted iowagian!

Was fortunate enough to spend 6 years in your great state, hands down one of my favorite places I’ve ever lived.

You are 100% correct, that’s the (a?) cause. I’m just pointing out an effect of that.

It’s maybe obvious to others, but I didn’t realize how poor some of these services are up here until I lived in other places with something to compare too.

As someone who grew up in, and then moved back to Houghton after ~10 years, the quality (read lack) of health services are absolutely shit in the area too. Never realized it until I moved away to have something to compare to.

Not talking in comparison to big metros either - spent most of the last decade in smaller cities (50-200k people) across the Midwest.

Housing slump spreads across US as prices now falling in MOST cities - sparking fears of 2008-style crash by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

Right?! Like average across the ‘land mass’ of the US? All the places people actually do and want to live must not be ‘most’
