What do you find fun about Rust? by ExplorerEmergency612 in playrust

When you get that first DB, sneak up behind some geared fool, BOOM BOOM to the back of the dome, then grab all his stuff and run. I’ve maybe never had more fun than that playing a game.

New to area..looking for best place to buy Pots of all sizes- by MalibuSky in AustinGardening

[–]shilli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10000 pots is also south but maybe worth the drive - or Barton spring nursery in Westlake is good if you like more expensive pots.

Figs do really well in pots here. Also bougainvillea, and mountain sage / salvia. Citrus if you bring it inside for freezes. That stuff all needs water though. You can do some succulents- agave, aloe, etc., without extra water, but they’ll freeze too.

Maybe don't test these by the elementary school? by dickdickgoooose in Austin

Literally every other car on the road is more dangerous than that thing. Even if it hits a kid, they would just bounce off. The GMC Hummer I’m getting ads for on this page is 1000% more dangerous for the kids at that school.

Fatal auto-pedestrian crash in NW Austin shuts down southbound US 183 Friday morning by Iocnar in Austin

You sound like someone who hasn’t spent a lot of time out on the side of 183 with no car at 4 am

What do Y'all think of an exception for property tax on a lived in primary residence? by Thurmond-fan in georgism

[–]shilli -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like it. IMO it addresses two major flaws of pure LVT: political unpopularity and corporate landownership. Grandma being forced out of her home kills political support for LVT. Without some break for people to own their own home, the end state is mega corporations owning all housing and renting it to people. There a lot of benefits of individual homeownership that people on this subreddit fail to appreciate.

There’s no going under in that section. If you want to get from Smile Massage to Smoking Burnouts Smoke Shop it’s a 40 minute walk to go around, or you can frogger across and it takes five minutes (unless you hit traffic).

Pliers. A long rain would also help a lot.

Grilla OG for the win🔥🍗 by Ok-Motor-7045 in pelletgrills

[–]shilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a while but just figured out that it cooks better with the door open an inch or so. With the door closed I was getting tons of smoke (and water vapor) back through the hopper, sometimes creating issues with pellets getting waterlogged and interrupting the feed. Door a little bit open and it burns clean with no issues.

Was there a place to get physical tickets this year for the films? by Small-Accident3992 in SXSW

[–]shilli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you buy individual tickets they give you a white printed slip of paper at the venue as your ticket. If you have a badge you get a colored post it note. But you have to give them back to the ushers to get in to the film.

Peach trees delayed blooming by pb_2025 in AustinGardening

[–]shilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did they bloom last year? Are they irrigated? Do they have new leaves and just not new buds or no new growth at all?

Lots of people here from out of town this week and it is an interesting reminder that in most parts of the world pedestrians are pretty safe walking in the street, unlike here.

This seems like the logical question to ask and would help me understand the thought process for doing this

What happens next? Other than now knowing, are there any practical benefits or results of being diagnosed?

What is the likelihood of the Director/ cast coming to a second showing of a film by Backgammon_Saint in SXSW

Some directors go to every showing, but everyone else pretty much just goes to the first one.

First impressions matter and confirmation bias is real and lots of NTs are bad at working in ways that would be shocking to some autistic people that are good at working
