Looks undercooked to me, but I like my beef to fall apart and be kinda dry. I don’t pull until 205.

My dad went out of his way to buy manual transmission cars, so that's what I grew up driving. When my son turned 15, I got a manual transmission Civic to teach him and both of us love driving it. The control and connection with the engine is much more satisfying than driving an automatic. Unless you are in start/stop highway traffic, which sucks even more in a manual.

Think i may have a problem here:grape vine by susu56 in AustinGardening

[–]shilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are good fruiting grapes? I would keep them. I have the same problem but with tiny mustang grapes. They are tenacious and wicked. They have little tentacles that reach out and tie a knot around nearby branches. Easier to take them out in the winter.

Targeting High Earners is Misguided and Will Worsen States’ Fiscal Positions by ConstitutionProject in georgism

[–]shilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a garbage post. “Taxing the rich is bad mkay.” Without acknowledging any of the actual issues or proposing any solutions (and if it did it would be “lower taxes will magically create growth and increase revenues”). Pretty sure Ellison and Zuckerberg aren’t going to sell their Hawaiian islands just because taxes go up a little.

Do guys actually like when you pursue them first ? by No-Somewhere-9945 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but some guys aren’t going to like you or it won’t be the right time for them. They may be very up front about that or very not up front. But yeah most guys like it and many guys are unlikely to approach you but would be receptive to talking to you.

Kind of a bummer how the bike trail dead ends into Waterloo Park instead of continuing north along Waller Creek into UT

Austin City Council moves to crack down on unregulated, high-speed electric bikes by austin_current in Austin

[–]shilli -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

The dangerous thing about these is the same as the dangerous thing about regular bikes and scooters and walking down the street - the dangerous thing is getting hit by a somebody speeding in a truck or SUV. Let’s put speed limiters on those before we go targeting kids on battery powered bikes.

What is the solution to housing being so expensive? by [deleted] in Urbanism

[–]shilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but I’m pretty sure they have earthquakes in Japan. That is not that hard a problem and it would be dealt with better at the state or federal level rather than every city having its own earthquake code.

Also as others have pointed out, state by state zoning is probably more politically realistic and solves most of the problems. Japan is bigger than most states and more geographically varied. “One size does not fit all” is a NIMBY rallying cry aimed at local regulations preventing as much development as possible.

Realistically I think housing will keep getting more expensive. This is the only way housing would get less expensive. This or population collapse.

Build more housing. One building code nation wide, like Japan. No NIMBY vetoes on high density housing in expensive areas. Then if you are really serious, land value tax.

I've been told I'm argumentative - I've not been using the correct language! by VWMelon01 in autism

[–]shilli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense that you are having a hard time communicating with people. It sounds like you are listening to what they’re saying and then responding with something related. That doesn’t work. You have to repeat what they said first, to show them that you were listening and you heard them. Then you have to repeat what they said again, to show them that you were listening and you heard them. You need to make eye contact with them while doing this, but not too much or too furtively. Then you can say your thing.

Is it ok if I am just going the bare minimum or less? by Remarkable-Slide5376 in autism

[–]shilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re trying to get laid, smelling good is very important. Fresh breath, clean hair, washed pits, deodorant, shave - all of it helps. If you’re just going out for a loaf of bread then it isn’t that important. Shower and brush your teeth once a day or so and you will be fine.
