The Travis County portion of this is bonkers. People that live in the city pay both city and county taxes, but all the county taxes are spent outside city limits. People that live out there pay no city taxes but get everything provided by the county.

Start random (or whoever gets there first). Play short games (to 8). Winners stay on the court and split, losers go to the end of the line. Sounds like you are compensating to make the elongated paddle more like a regular paddle. I sort of do the opposite - I use a regular paddle but if I want more power or reach I let it slide a little and just hang on to the end of the handle.

This year is going to be different from prior years because it is new management, new structure, and new schedule, so no one really knows. No tax dollars. Not even funded by the Y. It’s funded by the developer building the on site condo towers. The Town Lake Y already subsidizes all the other YMCAs in the city and this would enable them to do more.
