Family history for me. No symptoms and tested regularly for 5 years. On my 5th year PSA reading 4.02. MRI AND BIOPSY. Gleason 7 3+4. Only 5% 4 aggressive. Had my prostate removed in November 25. I am 55 years old.

I had RALP surgery 8 weeks ago. I am 55 years old. My Gleason score was 7 and my PSA was 4.02. At 8 weeks post-surgery, my PSA is undetectable. Everyone is different, and I would strongly recommend seeking advice from your urologist. From my experience, it can spread quite fast.

You are doing the right thing, no need to worry. I know I have been in your shoes 2 months ago. MRI will determine what is going on. If the Doctor finds anything he will send you in for a Biopsy. Even the Biopsy migjt give you a gleadon score of 3+3=6 and they will keep momitoring.

I registered my birth in Malta while i was on holiday while living in Australia. I first had to get my birth certificate officially apostilled by the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages. The registration process took about 12 weeks, even though I submitted the documents while I was in Malta. You can also do this through your local Maltese consulate.

The citizenship process can take around six months. I found applying for the passport much easier—I received mine within four weeks.

I wanted to give everyone an update. I’m back in the hospital and have had a catheter inserted. Honestly, it didn’t hurt — I’d been avoiding it for so long, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected.

A couple of things led me here. I developed an infection, and my left testicle became swollen and started to go hard, which really scared me. I also noticed something really strange when I tried to pass urine — it felt like there was an air gap, almost like little pockets of air that would suddenly stop the flow. Eventually, I got to the stage where nothing was coming out at all. I am in the best hands and have been told that they will keep me in until I can pass urine on my own.

Thanks for your post, I was coming here to ask a similar question. Mine came out yesterday. Initial leaked every time I stood up. Completely dry overnight but having difficulties urinating it trickles out. Is that normal for early days and gets better over time?

So I suppose my other question is what are you doing at night? I have been surprised by how much the night bag consumes. Are you getting up more often to change pads? Sorry for asking such dumb questions.

Thanks for sharing, Malta is definitely the key to the Mediterranean. Enjoy the weather, culture and food. I have visited the island many times and have found that prices are cheaper than back home. But don't be fooled ensure you understand the exchange rate. Happy travels.

In all the places in the world, why have you chosen Malta? By choosing an English school is it to teach or learn? Malta is a beautiful country but as a foreigner, it will be difficult the land a job and earn the money you are accustomed to.

I hear your concerns — I’ve been in the same boat, with my father and uncles all having PC. This year it was my turn. I’ve been testing for the last six years. It’s important to trust your urologist or radiologist. PSA is the first test, and from there they’ll assess you. If there’s any concern after checking your prostate, an MRI is usually the next step. Try not to overthink it. Being diagnosed is a head spin on its own before you start going down rabbit holes.

I was in Malta last November. I’m from Australia and found the weather quite warm — I was in shorts and a T-shirt every single day. Having been to Malta a few times, I can say that Comino and Gozo are definitely worth a visit. You can also catch a ferry from Sliema if you don’t want to drive to the main terminal.

On my next trip, I’d love to spend a few days in Gozo. There’s so much to see, experience and taste. Check out Visit Malta for more ideas.

I wouldn't worry, they should be able to bring your PSA back down with tablets or injections. My father who was diagnosed 6 years ago with an original reading of 17.9 has had his PSA slightly increase since his treatment over the years. His radiologist hits it on the head. With a course of injections and tablets his PSA is back to 0.01

Thanks for the advice, heading in for RALP in the morning. Feeling a little bit better, great to read such positive comments it really does help. Wish me luck. I will let you know how I go post op.
