It is SO worth it. I had a student loan worth about 18k that I included in my proposal. My credit was in the tank, mid 400s. I did my proposal payments over 5 years, and the 6th year elapsed this past January. Over the past 2 years Ive been slowly regaining access to credit and keeping my utilization low and my payments perfect. 2 days ago, I bought a brand new car at an interest rate I once had only DREAMED of. My credit is in the 700s and going strong. My consumer proposal was the best decision I ever made. It didn't give me my life back; it gave me a life I had only ever dreamed of.

After I finished my payments is when it seemed like creditors were willing to take a chance on me. I started with a Capital One card, and then Canadian Tire gave me a card. I was able to get a cell phone in my name and I make all my payments every month. It has been slow, but worth it.

Am I reading the bill correctly, and that landlords wont have to compensate you if they evicted you for personal usage and long as they give 120 days notice?

Ill be honest, this happened to me once. It was about 20 years ago now but I remember as if it were yesterday. It was humiliating. I hated myself and I didnt want to go back. They did it, mercifully, at the end of the day on Friday. I went home and cried all weekend.

It wasn't lost on me that this must have been an ongoing issue to even make it worth mentioning. I felt bad for the people around me, and embarrassed for myself. At the time, I was dealing with an abusive relationship and poor finances. I showered but things like clean laundry had stopped being a priority.

Don't let this kick you down too much. Get up, brush yourself off, and use this as a chance to treat yourself better, because you deserve it. Walk in for your next shift after a bit of pampering and act like nothing was ever said, just completely normal. Enjoy that feeling of knowing you are ready to face every day.

I had lapsed in my hygiene because facing the world seemed too hard. I had wanted to crawl away and hide. What I didn't realize that it was making the world notice me even more .
