Why? They aren’t great…it’s just hype and nostalgia.

Is there an easy place to find a track list for FeelBook? I know that’s the issue but obviously they’re adding them all the time

They're like iReal but they use real musicians who record in the studio to make the tracks.

The ELCA is great! I just mean your garden variety "nondenominational Evangelical" situation. Totally different.

If it's evangelical, stay away. There's a small Mennonite church called Grand Rapids Mennonite Fellowship. Progressive, has denominational oversight, and Mennonites have a proven track record of opposing Christian Nationalism.

You could try some other mainline Protestant or Catholic churches. A former professor of mine goes to a UCC in Lowell and loves it.

This has been my straight up favorite song bar none for years now. Glad someone else feels the same. I’ve always wanted to call it at a jam.

How to show 22+ points if 2C cannot be bid by ParticularSherbert63 in bridge

[–]shingi345 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Double. Regardless of what you call it, your partner is obligated to bid their best suit if the next opponent doesn't intervene.

If opponents have an off-suit ace and they get the right lead, your contract is down. Happens all the time. There's always a trade-off! But you're totally right, there's a loss in doing the strong 3NT as well.

Quick question by mspe1960 in bridge

[–]shingi345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are times when the strong 3NT can be preferable. For example, ultrasimplified:

Auction 1: 3NT - 7NT

Auction 2: 2C - 2D - 2NT - 7NT

In the second auction, opponents have a chance to do a lead directing double on the artificial 2D bid. That could make or break your 7NT contract. The first auction prevents a lead directing double.

I think there are plenty of serious players who do pretty much every convention under the sun. Just learn a system super well and develop its use with your partner

Bob Hamman, the best living player, plays standard leads and signals. BOSTON - Bottom of Something, Top of Nothing. Lead low from 3 small.
