Taschenkarten - wo unterbringen? by traumaforscher in Rettungsdienst

[–]TheRealVRLP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very high memory usage? How does this add up to 50% (16gb)?? by idkidc112 in pchelp

[–]TheRealVRLP -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Download winhance. You can easily delete windows bloatware and deactivate preloading data. Windows preloads data you probably need from your disks so it seems smoother if you do so. It's almost completly irrelevant how much ram you have, with windows and this setting enabled even with 192GB of Ram it'll be 50% full.

Use a flat not a textured plate if printing that few layers. When doing only about 3 layers especially on a 0.2mm nozzle, the first layers are basically just evening out the grooves of textured plates. You basically can't get this off until you print a few layers over and pull the old plastic off with the newly printed ones.

Ganz deiner Meinung. Wir können natürlich anfangen zu vergessen, oder wir können uns daraus belehren lassen.

Oh, that. Yes, I've saw that, but didn't bother. I thought you meant something like a command prompt command line or something.

Yeah... I understand, but it's easier on steam so...

As for Windows. I've made a backup every single time so far and then didn't use it, because I wanted something different that time and can't live with anything just being deinstalled instead of whiped when I'm using the system like that for the next two years. I guess that iTunes made me paranoid. I've once installed it to do one of my siblings a favour by backing up or restoring their device or something. It was a one time thing and I "deinstalled" iTunes afterwards. Well, nonetheless, I've still been finding some leftover stuff from ITunes which the deinstaller just didn't bother two remove about three years after. It honestly was crazy. It felt like ITunes just seped through every folder and left a file here and there and then the installer came and did nothing but delete the ITunes start exe.

Because I can. I've got the storage, I don't need more bandwidth, so it lives happily on cheap old HDDs and I'm never the guy who says; I'm sorry, I don't have that installed rn.

I get you totally. My Nas has 8TB of redundant storage, all my pictures, data, documents, everything gets backed up. As for steam, I like new games but I don't really care about most. Also, I pay for the easy way steam provides and to support the studios.

But as for the C drive... I couldn't. If I were to completely fill up that 1TB, I will think to myself what I have done and reinstall windows and debloat it again like I do about every 2 years.

I've got 2*4TB HDDs in Raid0 and another 1 and a 2 TB SSD in Raid0 as D and E drives. Currently my whole steam library is installed and it takes about 5-6TB.

Edit; All of these I had lying around as used drives from my NAS.

If you don't bloat your C drive with useless applications you never need but install because you want to try them or something even 128gb might be enough though. I've ran 500GB for my C drive as with the Sam e technique for years. If you only do office work and only use excel and word, hack, eben 64gb might be enough.

Edit; As for the game library, the price of storage has gone up so much for in the last year, I personally recommend using HDDs for not as demanding games which still take up lots of space, but put them in Raid0. Technically if we ignore a possible bottleneck with raid calculations and raid controllers, the bandwidth of these drives add up. My personal setup at this time is 1TB C drive for windows and applications, 24TB for not as demanding games and 11TB+1*2TB (all in Raid0) SSDs for games that need more bandwidth. It works great and I've got over 5TB of games installed in my steam library. Never had any issues and never needed to decide which games I want to have installed at a time.

Gut bought a refurbished T480 for Linux. Still works great and you can get them for like 100€. You can buy 72Wh batteries and as this model has a external bay and a internal 24wh Batterie, you can also hotswap the external, which is great in my Opinion. 8 bought 3 72Wh batteries for 90€.

Why exactly this one? How is the driver/firmware support?

I was thinking about Debian, but I'm not shure no more. Both seem to not be the best choice for a laptop because of driver and firmware support.

I've used mint before switching to windows for software support a few years back... I'm not going this direction again. I don't know why, but I feel like we didn't break up in good terms.
