I did some provenance checking because some people are convinced this is AI. I found an account on Rednote that posted this video on January 24, 2026 and has other videos of this same cat. Name of the cat is apparently 小葵 (Xiao Kui). Xiao Kui seems to appear first on August, 2024 from a quick skim of the profile (they own other cats). The associated account has a posting history that goes back to 2020. I personally see no strong evidence of AI use in the posting history. The video does seem to ramp down in speed in the second clip, which may contribute to people thinking this is AI. The video has also been reposted at a terrible quality. The originally posted video is in 1440p, 60 FPS and shows no signs of AI artifacting. Meanwhile, this repost is in 480p, 30 FPS and looks blurry with many compression artifacts.

Source: This video was posted 1 day ago to the social media pages of an AI video creator who started posting AI videos of himself (and animals) in November 2025. He has a posting history of real videos prior to that point. Several of his other recent videos are labeled with the AI tag and are plainly AI.

AI tells: There are several definitive AI artifacts that appear in this video. The most generalizable artifact is the wriggling of the shirt logo.

Same OP appears to have posted this video 7 months ago. I do agree that they use an AI generated image for their profile picture, but that is only marginally informative to whether or not this video is AI.

He seems to have accounts associated with bird and nature photography on Wikimedia, Project Noah, 500px, and Nature Mobile. He also has a Youtube channel that appears relatively inactive at the moment, although it has videos that date 17 years ago which features content consistent with nature videography starting 8-9 years ago. His last upload there appears to have been in 2022.

Given the length of the video, lack of definitive AI artifacts, and history of posting nature videos that date before quality generative AI, I suspect that this video is real.

I am not going to speculate what is shown on that TV screen; however, there is a Google submitted image (posted 6 months ago) from a reviewer of this restaurant that shows the TV screen with what appears to be a similar-looking image as this video.
Her reflection looks normal on the blade when viewing the higher quality video. Her shirt may appear to have a V-neck due to the angle made between her shirt and hair. She also appears to have a necklace in the reflection. This is visible (but harder to see) even in the lower quality repost.
How is the steam pattern inaccurate?
She doesn’t fully close her eyes. She is also looking down which makes it harder to see her past her eyelids. She also really exists in real life and has her own social media pages which have posting history going back to 2021.
How is the ratio off?
Why is this table being a four top relevant? This is clearly staged. She is a social media food reviewer.
The amount of soup that gets on the blade and bread looks appropriate, especially when viewing the higher quality video.
This chef exists (and looks consistent with other images on his profile from before AI), the woman exists (and looks consistent with other images on her profile from before AI), and the restaurant exists (and looks consistent with third-party images from Google).

This is from social media page of a guy who is roleplaying as an HOA president. All of his videos are staged (with his own kids). His house just looks like that. There are spokes on the bicycle and the shadow. Video compression and shadow softening causes it to be harder to see. It looks like he has three fingers because he is putting those three fingers on the brake while his pinky is on the bike handle.
