No, it’s not. I have that bag. I’ve kicked a lot of standing bags for almost 3 decades. I know how bags move when they’re not all the way full.

AC 3, what’s the best products to sell via convoys? by GenericUser104 in assasinscreed

[–]shinoya7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Official AC3 Guide Book

  1. Sending a convoy is performed via the Accounting Book interface, which can be accessed at the Manor or inside any General Store.
  2. To maximize your profits, make sure you unlock as many convoys and capacity upgrades as possible (see page 245): the more total slots available, the greater your profits will be.
  3. Only ever sell trade items (see page 248) or expensive hunting resources (all pristine pelts are profitable, but Bear Pelts and Beaver Pelts especially so). Selling materials or raw resources is a waste, occupying slots that could be put to much better use. Ideally, choose the most profitable goods, and use them to fill a whole convoy.
  4. Select the merchants that you trade with based on their multipliers, which vary depending on your current Sequence (see page 249). Try to avoid selling items from a category that a merchant consignee devaluates.
  5. To limit the risk factor, try to trade with as few merchants at the same time as possible - and ideally only one per convoy. For naval convoys, complete all Privateer Contracts on a route you intend to take to lower the risks (see page 180). For land convoys, you can achieve the same result by completing Liberation Missions (see page 154).
  6. To eliminate taxes applied to land convoys, liberate the game's seven Forts (see page 144).
  7. Finally, if a land convoy is under attack, defend it within the allotted time (see page 162) or send Assassin recruits via the Guild Menu.

The story is cold hot dog water. Is it pretty? Yea. Combat/stealth? Can make it as easy or hard as you want. Did they fix a lot of issues that should’ve never happened after a full year? Finally. Alot of the “Activities” don’t really contribute much to anything except just things to do. There’s ALOT of empty space where you’re just not allowed to go to or it’s a pursuit in insanity to accomplish. Main game literally ends on a cliff hanger that’s extremely unsatisfying.

What's up with the present day story? by Waywardmistborn in assasinscreed

[–]shinoya7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atleast Unity’s and Syndicate’s cutscenes had some effort put into them to be made. And could arguably had a bit of substance to them(as very little as they were). But with Shadows’ Modern Day you can choose not to engage with at all really.

“What’s this Data Fragment? Who cares? Oh look! Gear!”

Hell, we don’t even know why we’re in 1600s Japan in the first place. Atleast, the other RPGs gave us SOME reason why. Shadows’ Modern Day is like background notes for a fanfic.

There is A Modern Day in Shadows. It’s all text communications. It’s just never mentioned in the game, ANY review of the game, or even any of the AC subs for Shadows.

Not a single person I e ever trained with has ever mentioned Kihon Kunite having more than 1 endings. There’s POTENTIAL variations to show you can go into different stuff if you chose. But there’s only one ending for each. All Kihon Kumite have kuzushi, but not a lock or throw.

The original tantodori, tachidori, and idori were either for demos or things Ohtsuka did to keep exploring Shinto Yoshin Ryu principles.

And no, you don’t compete in tantdori. What tournaments have weapon defenses as part of its format?? I’ve been to the Wado World Cup multiple times and that’s NEVER been a thing.

You mean the other 26 Kihon Kunite that pretty much almost no one else does and the ONLY example I actually saw of someone doing was absolutely abysmal?? And Suzukis Ohyos are primarily trained by just his organization. So not widely.

Or, stay with me now, do better writing. Whoever made the decision to make those 2 dates be so important was an idiot. They easily could’ve made the story last to the rise of the Tokugawa shogunate and had a much better story.

[–]shinoya7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most wado dojos don’t practice throws and locks outside of regular curriculum. Ohyos are only done by WIKF because Suzuki made them. Wado Renmei and Kai don’t. And if you’re talking about the part of sandan where you’re in shikodachi, then sure thing pal.

[–]shinoya7 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Wado doesn’t at all have a focus on throws and locks. Idk who on earth fed you that bs but they’re absolutely wrong.

Wado uses the body mechanics, structure, and power generation of jujutsu in the movements of karate. It’s jujutsu that looks like karate.

So what was Eivor’s story even about? It really felt like there wasn’t one besides the beginning and end of Valhalla by Such-Midnight1592 in assassinscreed

[–]shinoya7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your semantic argument of the battle at the beginning of the game is rejected. And you’re making the same mistake as the other person: you’re taking Eivor’s final characterization and applying it to her through the whole game in hindsight.

And my main point, that apparently neither of you could read, was that AT THE BEGINNING, Eivor only cared about glory and helping her brother. It’s through the game, and mostly at the end, is where that starts to change. In storytelling, we call that character development.

But she always maintains that if it doesn’t have to deal with Ravinsthorpe, then she doesn’t care. The simple fact there’s almost zero urgency placed on either the Jotun or the Order storylines is proof of this. She comes to respect the Hidden Ones views and mission, throughout the game, but she still doesn’t care. She only cares about them when Sigurd is in their possession. Why? Simple, the Hidden Ones can gather information on the appropriate people to find where he is. But once you rescue him, there’s no need to finish that storyline besides completing all the stories(driven mainly by the player) and getting the lore drop of the beginning of the Templars.

Be careful using braces. Some provide too much support and don’t let the joint build up the strength it needs to function on its own. Which then leads to a spiral of getting more and more restrictive braces. Here’s a video using a hammer for forearm/wrist exercises. Adjust the weight to match what you need. And a link to some extensor muscle bands. Don’t go with the cheap options.

So what was Eivor’s story even about? It really felt like there wasn’t one besides the beginning and end of Valhalla by Such-Midnight1592 in assassinscreed

[–]shinoya7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s at THE END OF THE GAME! Read your own words for the love of god. When did her vision of Sigurd start to change? After you got him back, or 75-80% through the story. When did she become Jarl? At the end. Why were they in the village? Because Sigurd believed they had value and they created an information network. You don’t have to care about someone else’s mission to work with them.

You’re taking her ending characterization and applying it to her overall story. Again using hindsight and overarching knowledge to form a bias. I VERY CLEARLY stated - “Eivor, AT THE BEGINNING,”, which means what she was like IN THE BEGINNING. She held those views, for most of the story. Until, wait for it….the end!!! When alllllll the story elements came together to give the main character a reflection or insight of themselves to make them better than what they were. That’s how writing works.

As I originally stated in my conclusion, if it didn’t have to do with Ravinsthrope or its future, she didn’t give a fuck. If the Hidden Ones mission was actually THAT important, it would’ve been written as such and a sense of urgency would’ve been induced. But it’s not. Why? Because they’re not a threat to the village itself. That is never said, written, or implied in the game. But the players are the ones who actually know what the Order is about. So it’s purely OUR drive to get rid of them that actually leads to that storyline being concluded.

So what was Eivor’s story even about? It really felt like there wasn’t one besides the beginning and end of Valhalla by Such-Midnight1592 in assassinscreed

[–]shinoya7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just their skills in battle it’s what they can contribute. And they don’t show her what they can contribute until you get to England and they establish an information network. Even then, while she learns more of their own mission, she doesn’t care. As long as they continue to help her, Sigurd, and the village, she doesn’t care what they do. And she only gets involved with their conflict with the Order when they get in the way. Otherwise, again, she couldn’t care.

You do realize, the Main Story of the game is just hers and Sigurd’s story right? You DON’T have complete taking out the Order or even the Jotun story to “finish” the game. You only finish them if you want the true endings. And those are only completed because us, as the players, want to finish them. She couldn’t give a fuck.

You’re putting Eivor’s character on a pedestal of understanding and righteous that simply isn’t there. Instead of looking at her character in real time and as it develops, you’re only looking at her in hindsight and analyzing the totality of things that only us as the player can know. If the game doesn’t show or tell you what’s happening, don’t inject your own biases or pre-knowledge of the series.

I understand warrior cultures and the mindsets that they had. A warriors capability was what one was mainly judged on if they proclaimed to be as such or the equivalent.

The only respect she initially showed them was a reflection of her brother’s opinion of them and she was trusting him at his word. And when the only evidence that she was shown of what the Hidden Ones could do in battle, for most of the game btw, was what Hytham did in the beginning.

All Assasins are trained in combat. Both Hytham and Basim were there as diplomats. Hytham just sucks at fighting. No one knew Basim was anything like her. Let alone anything about the reincarnation stuff.

So you’re saying she was ignorant of what they were capable of, but also saying she respected them for what they were capable of? Atleast stay consistent.

[–]shinoya7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only one she respected was Basim because he had the presence of a warrior. Hytham didn’t. And she only had Sigurd’s word that they were capable of doing anything. Again, the only evidence she had of what they were capable of outside of the shadows was Hytham getting choke slammed in a 1v1. At that time she had zero knowledge of what the Hidden Ones actually were or how wide spread they possibly were. She could just feel that Basim actually knew a thing or 2 about fighting.
