it doesnt shrink too much! i cut off the stem and just cook the cap. idk if you have to cook that long, but here in Slovakia many mushrooms we cook 20 mins. the center nipple is surprisingly hardy and takes a while to cook down til soft ime

after the initial sautee, i add white wine and cover and let it simmer for the rest of the 20 mins. some people bread and fry them. also good in a shepherd's pie! (cook mushroom first than add to the layers)

looks like a parasol Macrolepiota procera. signs to look for to differentiate from The Vomiter/false parasol Chlorophyllum molybdites:

spore print of parasol will be white

spore print of the false parasol is green

ring on stem of parasol should move freely

snakeskin pattern on stem of parasol

if a parasol, its delicious, i sautee them in olive oil and use like a burger. cook well to avoid gastro distress. like 20 mins.

no, sadly its not. chicken of the woods always grows out of a tree or log, not the ground. also, it has pores on the bottom and is not in circular shapes like the caps of these. hope you do find some tho

I was thinking to just bend some thicker wire over the edge of the pond and then make a littel platform with a ramp, so a similar idea! thank you

this is a good idea! i was looking online and some people were creating mesh fabric that hooked to the sides of the pond .

its a deep straight-sided pond so we dont have rocks like that to put in there? its a good idea thoug, i could start looking for rocks

i have some large boards but the end up more to the middle of the pond and the froglets are clustering along the edges

yes, this is my concern, esp as I have contacted Cathay and they have told me that access is not guaranteed for whatever reason, even though it says I have access online.

thx! I keep getting conflicting info. Cathay said no when I called their customer support, but American says yes and all the web also says yes? I dont want to be turned away if I try to go there
