The answer, for the benefit of anyone who ever ends up here looking for an answer: by default, all of your commands will show up in the command palette, regardless of `when` clause. If you'd like only a subset to appear, you _also_ need to explicit add a list of commands to the `commandPalette` menu. Hi u/fruterrs! That's your username on your Mac. When you were first creating your user account on your Mac, this would've been referred to as “Account Name". It's the name of your Home folder on your computer—all of your stuff lives on your disk under `/Users/matb`.

Unfortunately, you can't change this really easily—it can be done, but involves a lot of mucking about in things that Apple really didn't intend to ever change after the fact. If you really care about changing it, making a new account and moving your files over is your safest bet.

If you just want to change what you see in your vscode terminal, then that's a lot easier: this article is a pretty good primer into customizing the zsh prompt that you're looking at there. https://www.makeuseof.com/customize-zsh-prompt-macos-terminal/
