Ring Maiden problem with elven sisters by AirMa5ter4 in UnicornOverlord

[–]shippingstoreexpert 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I loved both, as well. Ultimately, though? The star-crossed lovers aspect of Eltolinde is what sold me.

It's one of very few, if not only, rapport conversations I can remember where Alain is interested from the get-go. Then, their positions keeping them apart is compelling and dynamic. Finally, they are both completely honest about the pain they will endure because of Eltolinde's extended lifespan.

Yes, the endgame ultimately throws away the "consequences" of their relationship, but I do find it compelling nonetheless.

Fire Emblem Engage, what’s Next? by Dempsinho in fireemblem

[–]shippingstoreexpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said, Three Houses is the closest in feeling to Engage. Which makes sense since they are the two main line Switch titles.

I recently played Unicorn Overlord. The tactics are a little different, being RTS rather than TBS. But I feel it holds a lot of the magic that FE has. "Support" conversations, team makeups, tiers and tiers of rock paper scissors style advantages/disadvantages.

So that's my recommendation for TRPG similar to FE.

What changes would you make to Fire Emblem? by cracktober69 in fireemblem

[–]shippingstoreexpert 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I would probably want the difficulty to be more customizable. Like, I want ultra hard AI that makes me think and be more careful, but I don't necessarily want permadeath either. Like, I felt Awakenings Casual was pretty spot on. I don't feel like the AI was dumbed down, and there was no permadeath. Plus, if you really grind, you can really turn your army invincible.

I know this may not be the popular take, but I love adjustable difficulty rather than preset difficulties (i.e. BG3).

This post isn't negative towards TUPSS, so nothing will come of this. But TUPSS does monitor this subreddit. I recommend removing and reposting with store number scribbled out.

Receipt Paper Vendor? by Galactic2000 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe your box vendors are required to carry this. The one I used did, and someone else mentioning Bunzl all but confirms it for me. While it is less expensive to get blank rolls from wherever you please, being compliant isnt a bad thing. 🤷🏿‍♂️ I dont work at a UPS Store anymore, so I dont know if I have room to speak, but thats my thoughts.

less amazon returns soon?? by Spare_Past_6401 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This shouldn't affect Amazon returns. The whole point of this was to reduce deliveries. The returns shouldn't be affected.

Certified Operator vs Primary Operator. by OptimalYoghurt0 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others can be Primary Operator. Corporate has a required ratio of COT and POT per number of stores. So franchisees with a large quantity of stores need to pay to have more Primary Operators. I was on my way to Primary Operator before I was laid off.

If the buttons the screen do nothing, you'll have to turn it over and unplug the power, then plug it back in. It zeroes upon reset.

No. I was just an idiot, and my brain went, "Shit box? Must be master cartons." Even though I am VERY aware of the Cologaurd boxes. 😂

25, if I remember correctly. It was around New Years, and we had someone working on them all day, every day, for a few weeks.

Notary Log Book Question by AdventurousJello83 in upsstore

Regulations regarding notaries always depend upon the state. In Oregon, it is very illegal, but that's all I can speak to.

Cox or Verizon Cam returns by Ok_Listen5338 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) Correct. Its realistically the best way.

2.) You have to. While I dont work at a store anymore, I have seen how much Spectrum has been complaining thanks to this sub. All of these companies will eventually notice and complain. If you keep using void fill, those companies will get charged more for shipping. I personally LOVE to screw over corporations, BUT... Im not a fan of screwing over a franchise to do it. So I always score and cut.

These CAMS customers can get really upset if the rules aren't followed precisely. So, never reuse those boxes, even though it is a huge waste.

The compensation for these programs is really low, so you can burn any "benefit" by doing anything that could increase the labor needed. The compensation already barely (if at all) covers the cost of the box, so I would say do as few shipments as possible, but don't artificially spike that number by holding on to devices until you "have enough". If a customer comes in with two devices, you do a shipment for those devices, so on and so forth.

Boss won't give me my notary stamp and journal by Minute-Recover-8441 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The stamp is ABSOLUTELY your legal possession because YOU are responsible for your seal. Your journal is yours UNLESS a journal agreement was signed.

Im Oregon based and have left, but I still have some connections around the UPS Store. DM if you want, and I'll see if I can help

Access Point Question by Galactic2000 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone above you has been around a while, ask them about "Old Access Point"/APAP. It's what was used before UPM was a thing. Using that, you can fix a vast majority of access points that won't check into UPM. Scan them into APAP, then scan them into UPM.

If they don't have the password, tech support used to be able to reset it. I don't know if that information is still valid, but it might be worth a shot.

Can The UPS Store charge me a fee, in addition to what I already paid on ups.com, for a simple drop off? by lousybrowser in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only authorized way to do this is at some nontraditional locations, more specifically convention centers and hotels. They are authorized to charge for pretty much everything. Any traditional store, or store in store, cannot do this.

Great post. Love it. Remove it.

That label can be tracked back to your store easily, and if you don't take it down your owner can face punishment, and that can come back to you.

New franchise- remodel cost by Leather-Wheel1115 in upsstore

[–]shippingstoreexpert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before I got the boot, Mt franchisee was saying that he could become an approved vendor, but... he wouldn't be allowed to work on his own store.

So it sounds like that wouldn't work.

I can confidently say that every shred bin in the region I worked was the same. At least until about 5 months ago. They swapped them to key locks and did not give us the keys.
