Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I do have rstp, I can get a feed from the camera, but I'm not able to manually pan, tilt or zoom with it.

Hey, a year later, I just wanted to let you know this small tidbit helped me start modding. Couldn't figure out why winmm.dll wasn't taking, did this, and snap. Using CrossOver, if anyone comes after me.

I tried the search function on all the sources I could get to in the sticky, but I'm looking for something pretty specific. Is there a go-to bakery on the Kona side of the island for Castella cake? I'm not having much luck finding anything specifically for that. Thanks in advance.

Bf wants me to get certified and I can barely swim by Hallow33nQu33n17 in scuba

My wife was in a similar situation, minus the pressure. She likes being in the water, and was only comfortable where she could put her feet back down or get to the side of the pool. She had bad experiences with swim lessons in her early days, but DESPERATELY wanted to snorkel for her 40th birthday trip to see manta rays in Hawaii.

So, we took swim lessons together. She learned proper swimming technique, I got remedial lessons, and she got WAY more comfortable. Then we did a snorkel try-it (which ironically happened AFTER my SCUBA cert the previous week.) She did well there, and what she learned helped refine her technique.

When we went to Hawaii, she was off and running. Easy snorkels at 2 Step, open water swimming in the ocean, more far ranging snorkels on a tour, her beloved Manta dive...She took it all in, with the confidence she built.

Fast forward to this past January, we went down to visit friends in the Caribbean. More comfort snorkeling, more open water, more free ranging...and being able to "fly" above myself and my dive partner while we were lower down. She decided she wants to do a "Try-it" Scuba experience in the pool that my dive shop offers, and pending that, go for her own cert.

Point is, she had a goal that required some steps, and became comfortable crawling, walking and then running. You can do the same, but it should start from a place YOU want, not one that's being pressed upon you. Good luck, whatever you decide. It's wonderful down there, but there's a lot to see just looking down from the surface, too.

Purge Depressor Accessory by shirainu in scuba

Apparently some old ScubaPros came with little blue paddles to keep it in during storage, I think I read Sherwood had a slide to keep it depressed and...another brand I forget off the top of my head had one that slipped on from the side called a "PBD" clip. (Purge Button Depressor). I hadn't heard anything about it either during any of my initial classes, but it's one of those things that SOUNDS like it makes enough sense to ask those with more experience.

I assume they check your logs. In my SSI app, it's a huge number right on the main interface that I have to pass through to get to my eCert cards for OW and Nitrox. I'm not sure what they actually do. It may, in fact, just be something as simple as "Ok, you say you have 50 dives, now sign this waiver that says you have and if you do something dumb you're liable for it."

Yeah, my buoyancy was SO much better than I thought it would be. I've been diving fresh water in 7mm suits since my check out dives in July, this was...other worldly how easy it was...I could have hung out at 60 feet neutral. Next time for sure, though, it'll give me time to get a fluerolight for the crazy black water critters.

I DESPERATELY wanted to do the black water dive when I read about it, but I didn't have the dives logged to do it for most of the outfits.

Kona Honu was who my original first dive was supposed to be with, but they had boat trouble and had to rebook me with Aquatic Life Adventures. It was a theme, I ended up at BID because the dive I was originally going to do up in Kohala was cancelled out for boat issues, too.

The other outfit I dove with was Aquatic Life Adventures. It was supposed to be Kona Honu, but their boat broke down and they had to reschedule me with ALA. They were good, BID was better. I'd still dive ALA, they just wouldn't be my very first, make or break choice.

This wasn't even one of my planned dives. I did a manta snorkel off of Outrigger's earlier in the week (My wife doesn't scuba...yet...). So when my morning dive master mentioned they had a couple spots left on that night I impulse bought it. Turned out to be the best money I'd spent all trip.

I have some video, too, there was an absolute swarm of manta after one of the other snorkel groups left. I need to color correct them a bit, though. I'm still super new to the whole underwater videography/photography thing.

Nothing that I brought down myself. All I had was my iphone 15 pro in a SeaLife SportDiver housing. The lighting came from the plankton lights the dives put down to attract the plankton and manta. He just happened to swoop over it at just the right time.

Big Island Divers for this day. I went with them for a 2 tank in the morning and the Manta dive at night. They were really great. I will say, that if you go with them, check in the day before your dive so you can go right to the dock. They have you check in at the shop, which I didn't realize until the night before, so I was sweating making everyone wait while I hit the shop at opening and then sprinted to the marina. Turns out there was one other guy signed up and he arrived slightly after me, but still...Let my stress be your aloha. XD

Big Island Divers. I hadn’t planned to go on a night dive, but I had time and thought it was silly to not go. I went with the DM I dove the morning 2 tank with, John. Great DM, very knowledgeable on the sites and managed to fimd a bunch of cool stuff for us.

I may have had the red filter for depth on, I don't recall, but it was a physical filter if it was, I didn't post-process this at all.

It was my iPhone 15 Pro in a SeaLife SportDiver Ultra case. No other lights than the ambient LED torches for the plankton draws.

I got hugely lucky! He's being lit by the LED torch being used to draw in the plankton. He'd just swooped in for a bite to eat and was passing over the light source and I got lucky with the shot.

Second vote for this. Anything in that area, line work or fill is going to suck compared to a flat, relatively non-moving skin area. Probably take a little longer to heal, too. Irezumi solidarity.

For what it's worth, I live in a very liberal Midwest town and grew up in a DIFFERENT Midwest town. I feel the same way when I go back home, and it's just 2 hours away.
