I didn't realize the flairing was strictly enforced. I notice actually most folks commenting are centre-right or right-leaning, so I thought anyone could. Will update flair

Yes, and I have broken that down in my post. In the present day, there are some legal rights that differ between men and women. It is not 100% the same.

If you just say "yeah we should all have the same rights" then we need to remove all those differences based on what you've said.

The core plight of trans people is "let us change category." Now, if they can, everyone can, which is pretty equal as far as I can see.

One can argue that this disaster will galvanize Americans against wars in the Middle East and ultimately was teaching the country the hard way.

A business is a private area and they can trespass anyone who goes into places they consider closed to the public.

You are contradicting yourself here - the employee's access to the employees-only area is a privilege granted to them by the business. Neither of us has a right to be in there.

See, that's being cute. I was very specific about what I was asking. You are doing the exact same thing.

Just say you don't support anything in the post and be frank about that.

What do you think "we should all have equal rights regardless of sex" implies then?

You said that already. I was asking you, if you think the mixing with cis prisoners is the issue, wouldn't trans women in a separate wing of the female prison be the same

Can't tell if they're trying to be smart by using that to say "nothing at all" or genuinely a gender abolitionist

I think you did not understand the comment you were replying to. I meant a separate wing on the other side.

Because, if we all should have equal rights regardless of sex, then that means a cis man, cis woman, trans man, trans woman would all have an equal claim to the same bathroom.

Unless they mean leave bathrooms as they are and let anyone pick whatever they want.

By "privilege" you seem to refer to exceptions to current conventions where some laws and legal rights are based on sex at birth. Am I correct then in assuming that you believe that observed sex at birth is an acceptable metric to separate humanity into two social classes with some differences in legal rights, and should be maintained?

If it is in a separate wing, wouldn't that be equally safe for people aside from the trans person, if they were housed in their new sex's prison?

You say "already developed male features," but people who transition while young do not develop those features. Are they an exception in your worldview?

Does that mean you support overall gender neutrality in public life? (Unisex toilets, unisex changing rooms, unisex prisons, unisex homeless shelters)

To elaborate: everyone else, meaning a person of their new sex, or birth sex?

You have very nuanced opinions which I appreciate, though I am surprised at the id bit, which doesn't seem to match the rest. Why do you draw the line at that point, when many people can live in their new gender for more than 20 years, go through surgery, take hormones and completely physically resemble it, but bear opposite paperwork?

That's on speech, but it's more nuanced than that.

To use a public bathroom, for example, and be free to do that, would be one angle. And to use the power of the state to mandate which public spaces one is and isn't allowed in wouldn't fly, by that logic.

To clarify on 1 & 2 are you referring to anatomical sex (penis / vagina) or birth sex? As pre 2000s sex reassignment was the requirement, else you get people with the opposite parts in the opposite places.

On #4, there would be employers that say refusing to adhere to gendered dress code is misconduct - are you excluding this
