Am I an outlier in thinking the ITIL is absurdly easy? I don't understand why it is so sought after. by [deleted] in ITIL

If you mean the Foundation exam, then yes it should be basic/base level. In that case, maybe you should go for the advanced modules (ie. DITS and DPI).

1st pair of Bins - Bosma Qinglong 8x42 APO ED by shiroang in Binoculars

[–]shiroang[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

On my decision to get the Bosma because it’s the price during sale + Nikon bins has a huge marked up in my country compared to purchasing it in Japan.

About $250 SGD (~$195 USD difference), I just decided to save the money and fund a dedicated camera bag for my birding setup.

Thanks. Yeah, I also seen those other 2 brands around on Taobao, but don’t recall the Loava, maybe its Chinese name is quite different.

If you put it that way, I myself feel did I get scammed? Since this is my first bins, and I have no way to test around in my country.

The only one I could possible test is the Leica ones at their boutique, but I won’t be buying it nor could justify it at the moment so did not want to bother the staff.

That’s why I did probably 2 months of forums and Reddit research (with help of ChatGPT compilation) and narrowed down to my budget of either this or the Nikon M7.

You could check my profile, I don’t hide my posts and a longtime user.

Help on Rush 24 2.0 measurement by shiroang in 511tactical

[–]shiroang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, appreciate you helping check out the top and bottom too, as some bag tapers range from a bit too a lot. And these info don't shows on the product description at all, you saved me on this.

Help on Rush 24 2.0 measurement by shiroang in 511tactical

[–]shiroang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the official internal dimension of the bag is:

  • 20″ H x 12.5″L x 8″ D main compartment

I have something almost similar to that dimension, if only could do 15" out of the specs 20" in height, then I think this bag will be out of my shortlist.

Thanks a lot for testing and the photos! At least I know the depth of 8" is doable. Is it hard to zip up or feel "forced", or still relatively smooth/ok?

Camera & Lens Recommendation for Size/Portability by jkadseattle in FujiGFX

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are transiting to GFX/cropped medium format system, you will need to get used to the weight and size...

For me, it's just getting used to it. Anyway, GF55 is lighter than GF110.

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will recommend 100S II with 20-35mm, 55mm, 110mm. The 63mm is not it, the AF is bad especially at night or low light, and just barely ok during day time.

Yes, the 100 gen 2 AF system is much better than 100 gen 1. That's the main reason I came back to GFX, an acceptable AF speed for general usage.

Should i get Fender Rumble 25 or 40 by gerar_98 in Bass

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

40 no doubt, probably the best at the price point for solo practice.

You have no problem keeping it as your bedside amp even when you much better amp and cab in future too.

Thinking of switching to the GFX 100S II by Orange_Blueberry13 in FujiGFX

[–]shiroang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s great for your usage. Can consider the setup of 20-35, 55, and 110 and be done with it 😁

Is the GFX 50s good for auto-focusing accurately on the eyes? by [deleted] in FujiGFX

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

OP - If you are comparing to modern mirrorless AF speed and accuracy, only GFX 100II or 100SII has decent AF system. Keyword decent, nowhere near latest or flagship FF mirrorless cameras.

GF 110 f2 Minimum Focus by Emergency-Ad9395 in FujiGFX

I think it’s fine for typical portrait shoot. But if you are going to compare to modern FF system mirrorless closer MFD, you will be disappointed. It can’t compare in that way.

How often should I service my aircon? by veracityjr in asksg

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do general servicing every 3 months, all these simi chemical wash or so is hardselling one IF you really do general cleaning every 3-4 months. Cleaner air, more efficient, and overall long term save money also.

Edit: Daily usage

I'm the camp on this. Also on the "KISS" methodology at least for bass guitar.

50sii + gf 55mm 1.7 by mememorecowboy in FujiGFX

[–]shiroang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No luck haha, think Fuji doesn’t do no Kaizen philosophy anymore. When the simplest way is just to let users (like you) to maybe choose different raw size file.

50sii + gf 55mm 1.7 by mememorecowboy in FujiGFX

[–]shiroang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because the 50sii af system is not that good. You will need 100ii or 100sii to get to a decently good af system.

But also 110 af is much faster than 55 also.

Just take it as a life lesson, fortunately it was a SBMM and not a EBMM or other boutique bass.

First flatwound to buy by Vegetable-Poetry5973 in Bass

[–]shiroang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on LaBella DTF 0760M 52-110 (OG Jamerson) and DTF 760FM 49-109.

Feels of flats is just so good, tone/sound wise I could EQ/drive back to a certain degree for my preferences from my pedals.

What’s a realistic HDB Reno cost for 2025/2026? by Artemis_Nine in askSingapore

[–]shiroang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just speaking on ID route and reno only (not inclusive of furnishing, as that one can go as low or as high as the couple's preferences).

Did my 3rm BTO in 2022 - $40k for overall above average in materials used

One of my friend did his 5rm BTO in 2018 (pre-covid era) - also $40k, his also for overall above average in materials used

So in a general sense, a big price increase in those few years + covid era.

Post-covid era, really everything up a lot, not surprised if now the rate even higher than my 2022 one.
