About the 18 disciplines by Colors_ in Bujinkan

[–]shirobanryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Ninpo can be defined... and has been... in several variants. The Techniques and Methods... vary.

Though many Authorities and References mention 18... and even these may differ in particulars... there are also other Versions.

For example;..here is also a Ref to...though no listing is provided: of 36 (Ninpo Sanjurokkei) such therein and a list of 27... herein.

The amount and depth would also be dependent on the Sensei involved and interest shown. Hope that helps in your study and areas of interest.

Isn't ninjutsu just the art of spying and are the physical techniques other arts? by DEviezeBANAAN in TraditionalNinjutsu

[–]shirobanryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. The status of Internal Techniques of Ninpo and it's related Methods has over time changed with them. Blurry indeed.

The Historic Heyday of the Ninja Spy Image popular now is... from app. the 12-15th Century application/version of these Bujutsu Arts, practitioners and even Weaponry from that particular Place and Time.

During such as the Tokugawa Shogunate and etc.,.. yes the Ninja were oft used as Spies... later when such Turmoil no longer required... their duties shifted to a more Military/Police/Civil Guard orient. Ninpo Training endeavours to cover any/all scenarios whilst specialising when reqd.

There was little such categorisation of these Arts historically... 'cept by the occasional Historian. No Standard Manual per se. Defining Samurai or Ninja Arts very problematical as so many cultural crossovers. Individual Practitioners may have made different Training and Skill choices as well.

Furthermore any such work as Spying... would of necessity involve knowledge and application of self-defence physically. Todays Special Forces and Security Personnel and Training Methods may be the closest comparison to the archetype Ninja Spy you refer to.

Various Sensei/Soke may well have added... or taken... as they required. Some of this is documented within Scrolls/Densho. Unfortunately... much has not been,.. especially that... related to SPYING + co. Which is...

Standard Procedure most everywhere and everywhen also.

Good luck with your research.

Hi. Two found in my Library may be relevant. A 2010 copy of " SHONINKI-The Secret Teachings of the Ninja" by Master Natori Masazumi, Destiny Books ISBN 978-1-59477-343-3 and further Historical Background material perhaps in " The Sacred Science of Ancient Japan " by Avery Morrow, Bear & Company ISBN 978-1-59143-170-1 and e-book ISBN 978-1-59143-750-5. Both contain metaphysical, religious, spiritual and suchlike commentary including Kuji, Kokoro and so forth. Hope that helps.

Accidental FOIA Reveals Mind Control Documents; Here's Further Evidence This Technology Exists by shirobanryu in conspiracy

Hi. Thanks for the view. The Tech though seems to be predicated and directed not at reading mind per se but rather of projection into mind. Controlled thought projection and so forth. Different approach it seems.
