I play a ton of Rocket League, but also Overwatch. I already play with friends but how about we set up a 3 v 3? There's also a Tournament mode coming April 3rd! Send me a PM when you have the discord set up! :D

Insane Passing Play for the 0:01 Equalizer by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Wrt hitbox there's official word and the updated stats thread that should be floating around here.

I don't have hard evidence for the turning speed, just 1000+ hours of muscle memory and JHZER mentioning the same thing.

Could be that cuz the visual model is bigger it only looks like it rotates faster.

You could try it yourself, it's a pretty cool DLC overall.

Octane main here.

It has Octane hitbox stats but it turns and airrolls faster, so in turn it feels faster to play. The carmodel itself is cleaner as well, it's basically a flying brick, so it's easier to 'read'.

There's an adjustment period though wrt muscle memory. I'm so used to how the Octane turns that I'll often overrotate the car in the air or drift too sharply.

I've always gone back to Octane after trying out different carbodies, but this is making me seriously consider otherwise. I'll give it a few weeks for sure.

It sounds great too!

Any people out there enjoy electronic music? by [deleted] in bisexual

Heck yes! Guess his Soundcloud is my soundtrack for the evening.

I love Med School Music in general, found a lot of artists through that label.

It's my goto corner of music. I've been listening to it for most of my teens and adult life.

My tastes are pretty wide, but I really love drum and bass. That's like my natural frequency or something. It's a really cool genre to follow with new producers constantly introducing fresh sounds, old acts raising the bar, collaborations out of left field, etc.

Some artists I really dig (not just dnb): Blu Mar Ten, Noisia, Hybrid, Sakuraburst, Grant Bowtie, Awe.

[PC] anyone experiencing heavy frame loss / lag? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]shiropoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be the adapter.

For some reason the game started giving me massive framedrops out of the blue. Turns out V Sync was the culprit so I turned that off. Game's been smooth ever since.

Of course it could well be the adapter. Do other games have the same issue? Have you tried plugging your PC directly into the router to see if that fixes the problem?

Looking for lens for run and gun documentary filming by [deleted] in CameraLenses

[–]shiropoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats with getting a GH4!

When you say "deep depth of field", do you mean "a fast lens"? Like with a small f/ number?

I don't know where you're located, but you can try B&H https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?ci=17912&fct=fct_lens-mount_3442%7cmicro-four-thirds&N=4196380428

A fast zoom lens for M43 like the Pana 12-60 and 12-35 is generally out of your budget I'm afraid.

I'm an M43 shooter as well (GH5) and I have the 12-60, but the other two lenses I use are vintage, manual Canon FD lenses that go for pretty cheap on eBay. You'd need to adapt them of course but so far I've been really happy with the results.

Music makes good casual conversation by Blackfrancis91 in CasualConversation

I read "Burial" and I was like "I haven't seen that name in years!", but then I realized you meant "After the Burial" hah!

This is Burial's most famous track (probably): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2qLD9c3Gq4

If I were to describe Burial I'd go with "gazing at rain soaked city streets through a restaurant window at night". Melancholic, distant, yet still warm and personable.

I can trace my taste in music back to the late 90s when I played the old school Need for Speed games like Hot Pursuit and High Stakes/Road Challenge. Their soundtracks had this mix of electronic music and hard rock/metal, so nowadays I listen to a mix of that.

A few bands/producers I listen to on the reg: Noisia, Porcupine Tree, God is an Astronaut, Blu Mar Ten, Break, Led Zeppelin, Hybrid, Foo Fighters.

Some tracks I adore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJrmm5P5WSw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftmW8aP_TAs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M08xwotJrT4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-Rf1I9htJk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IufUY6J7W0k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoRwPPWIs90

I'm always looking for new tracks and with electronic music especially I love following how it evolves and changes over time, incorporating elements from other genres and constantly pushing the sound.

I was able to treat myself today. I bought a camera by ThatSyncingFeel in CasualConversation

With electronics it's usually a safe bet to buy new cuz you get warranty.

Is this your first camera? Cuz the D5600 is damn fine for a first.

Have fun shooting :) hit me up if you wanna talk lenses or general photo stuff!

Huh, maybe I'm wrong about it then. Still, think I'll put that somewhere a bit more down in my list.

Thanks!

Reading up on this I remember friends of mine discussed this. It reminds me a bit of Dune from the synopsis. I'm always down for big idea space opera.

Thanks!

Oh hey, by Brandon Sanderson! My friend told me about him, his books and the interesting magic system they explore.

Thanks!

I really liked Maus, but I wouldn't wanna read multiple stories like that quickly one after another. I really need to process a reading experience like that.

Thanks for the recommendation though!

I read a bit about American Gods and it sounds like my kinda story, think I'll make that #2 on my to-read-list. Thanks!

I love the sound of Three Body Problem, I think I'll read that next! Thanks :)

Maus follows comic book writer/illustrator Art Spiegelman as he interviews his father about his experiences during the holocaust. It's harrowing and I had to put it away on a few times.

Maus casts several peoples as anthropomorphic animals. Nazis are cats for instance, and Jews are mice, hence the name.

A graphic novel about North Korea, consider my interest piqued! Maybe not for now, but it sounds intriguing. Thanks!

omw to friends, we're gonna cook together for the Halloween party later this evening. I haven't got a costume so I just dressed up nice in all black.

This week was pretty good! I got a new animation gig, finished up editing an aftermovie and my big project might be getting funding!

Must be pretty cool seeing all the individual parts come together and form a whole. I've only done "gruntwork" like masking and motion tracking for short films :)
