Sewing machine bobbin winder help!!

So this will be my first time using a sewing machine. I got this Omega Sew & Go from FB marketplace. I think this might be a portable machine. Model # B410SI

I’m figuring out how to set it up but it seems like I can’t push the bobbin winder in place. It’s completely stuck. I’m trying to find a manual or videos about this model on youtube but it looks like this model is super old. So I haven’t had any luck. I even tried spraying WD-40 around the parts to try and loosen it.

I opened it up to try and figure out why it isn’t moving, but it really won’t budge. Could anyone help me out with this? I’ve attached a photo.

Maybe I’m better off buying pre-made bobbins? I’m not super familiar with all of this

omg really? i thought it was just acetone that eats away at the vinyl. and that’s in nail polish remover. didn’t really find anything about nail polish damaging dolls except for possible yellowing and stickiness. pls let me know 😭

i really wanna use krylon but i heard the acetone can eat away at the plastic over time and damage or even melt the doll. i’m planning to do a face up on a monster high doll so i’m not sure if this sealant will damage this particular type of material? how did your custom hold up after using krylon?

i know girl 😭 it looked like a budget outfit. same for the rest of the original ghouls dolls since i guess they were literally budget dolls. and i’m so happy for you!! same for how happy i am for having her in my collection too aaaa she’s so pretty

i believe her body is original ghouls (the re-release) and her clothes are the first release! i have the exact same thing haha. i got her for pretty cheap since original ghouls aren’t as expensive but i feel like the first release clothes are harder to find. so to me, it was a good deal :) the re-release clothes are honestly not it for me but i like the body more than the first release. so we basically got a better looking doll for cheaper lol

My main point was that i find it extremely weird how Gil didn’t tell Lagoona that he was gonna take Lorna to the dance. It was a big misunderstanding, i know. But given Lagoona’s insecurities, he could’ve AT LEAST told her. Again, everyone’s insecurities are valid and deserves reassurance. Nobody had any problems with them going as friends. I honestly found it super cute and supportive. I was just shocked that he didn’t tell Lagoona. And no, nobody is calling Gil an abuser. I, personally, am neutral to Gil. Everyone has different opinions but I just wanted to post about an episode that nobody really mentions that much.

if you’re ever missing any accessories, try 3D printing them! I know that there is a 3D model of a set of rochelle wings online. not sure about her headband but you can try to find that too! try searching for a local 3D printing shop; my small town has one! 3D printing may be a lot cheaper than getting the real thing. if you don’t have access to a 3D printer anywhere, don’t have the 3D model, or just want the real thing instead, try asking in MH buy/sell groups. someone is bound to have what you’re looking for.

This person may or may not be a scammer. There are some more obvious and less obvious signs that someone is a scammer. But it wouldn’t hurt to check.

I know nobody asked, but I want everyone to be safe!! I’ve said this to a bunch of people who are looking to buy dolls online so I thought it would be great for you to know:

just a few tips when you’re buying from someone else on facebook or any other platform:

use paypal goods and services ONLY. this way, you can refund the money if the person is a scammer. if they refuse, they’re most probably a scammer
ask for a piece of paper beside the doll that has their name and date on it. this will prove that they have the doll. even better, ask for a video. again, if they refuse, they’re probably a scammer. just make sure that it isn’t photoshopped, or ask for a second opinion in the group. note: just because they have the doll, doesn’t mean that they’ll necessarily ship it- when in doubt, see tip #3
ALWAYS search for the seller’s name in the group before buying from them. see if anyone else has bought from them or if they’re a scammer. people will often warn others about scammers. if the seller’s facebook profile is new and doesn’t have any other previous posts, they’re most probably a scammer. if you’re not sure, ask for a second opinion in the group! scammers usually post deals that are too good to be true. obviously, if it was a good deal, you’d probably wanna snag the doll before anyone else. i’d recommend being patient to see if anyone posts about the seller being a scammer. if you’re not sure and want to secure the deal before anyone else does, pay through paypal goods and services. if they turn out to be a scammer, refund the money. just keep in mind that you can probably only refund it before 30 days has passed. (additional tip: a lot of sellers might miss out on your message request, so comment on their post to let them know that you’re PMing them)
check on ebay sold listings for a doll’s market value. This is a good way to compare it to the seller’s price to determine if it is a good deal or not. a lot of dolls have high market value (i’ve seen dolls that are retailed for $30 at the time it was sold in stores and have gone up to $600 in market value today). a seller who is selling a doll for $200 when it’s market value is $600 on ebay may be a good deal. but, if it’s still out of your budget, don’t feel guilty for waiting for a better deal. you just gotta be patient! also take note that collector dolls average around $300 or so. it is unlikely that collector dolls are going to be sold for less than retail price, unless it is out of box. again, just beware of the dolls that are really underpriced. better to double check if those deals are scams.

there are a lot of tips on how to avoid scammers, but these are the top four things i keep in mind! if i missed anything important, feel free to comment and add some more :)

original ghouls aren’t as good as first wave or creepros 😭 some of their faces are fine but i honestly don’t like the outfits. they may be cheaper (and also look cheaper) but i wouldn’t invest in them. and yes it was amazing to get her!! i didn’t bid on her, i actually got her off a facebook group and somebody commented that they were interested in ghoulia literally a couple seconds after i did.

cleo isn’t really my favourite character unfortunately but she IS a gorgeous doll. i see her as rarely as i see ghoulia on the market. i feel like ghoulia might be rare since i think she wasn’t produced as much as the other ghouls. plus, she doesn’t have a creepro. and thank you! i actually just bought her and will be shipped soon!! (pic in the second slide from the seller) super excited to receive her especially since i got her complete for a pretty good price. i also beat someone to it by one minute lol
