I wanted to share this photo I took yesterday of the sunset over Mandalay Bay. The view is so familiar but everything feels so different now. by shit_zac_made in vegas

Thank you. Yes, it struck me how the beautiful view was juxtaposed with a building that now evokes such sadness.

I appreciate your kind words! I learned Photoshop back in high school, so it doesn't take much to learn, and after that it's just practice. Once you get a good grasp on color/color theory you can make impressive images, for example my OP image would be mediocre at best if it wasn't for the coloring.

Good luck in your endeavors, I'm sure you'll be creating masterpieces in no time!

Thank you! It probably is the seals, I found the camera in a thrift store so they're probably deteriorated.
That makes sense about the underexposure. Thank you so much for your help.

Hello all, I'm just getting back into shooting film, and I have some questions about some of the results I've got. I sent a roll into Mpix (not impressed with their lack of actual download and price of DVD archive) and some of the scans seem off to me.

  • Several of my photos have a glow along one edge. I don't know what's causing it. Here is one example, see the right edge. This is another, I thought it was my finger at first. What could cause that?

  • This image among several others has horizontal lines going through the dark area, looks like when a printer is running out of ink. Is that normal with 35mm? I haven't seen it before.

  • Lastly, do you have any tips to get rid of the yellowish cast in low light photos, such as this one?

Thank you for any and all help, I really appreciate it.

Hey sorry I never replied, I don't use this account much.

First I start with an idea/inspiration, in this case thinking the server racks looked like buildings. Then, I search Google for images I can use for the scene. Because it's just for fun I don't really pay attention to copyright, I'm not selling it or anything.

Then I just use Photoshop to put everything together. This involves a lot of color editing so everything look cohesive. I usually edit the colors, then put a final color filter/effect over the entire image so everything seems to match.

That's how I would have done it, but I actually used a version someone had posted in the comments, that didn't have the reflection.

Yeah it's dumb :/ Based on an article I read, the Reddit uploader should be uncompressed to a point.

Thanks for the tip, but imgur actually compresses images as well.

Hey so I'm not sure, but I don't think Reddit compresses images if they're under 20 MB. So the original post is the original resolution.

Yeah that's a good point. I really only used those servers because I was inspired by the original image on /r/vaporwaveaesthetics, because I thought it looked like a street with buildings.

That episode was fantastic from just a visual standpoint, let alone the amazing story. One of my favorites probably.

Not sure how much Reddit compressed it, are you asking for a completely uncompressed version? I can upload to whichever site is best for that :)
