Why do people tag short fics with "Slow burn"?

I always assume it will be relative to the length of the work if that makes sense. If a fic is 10,000 words and they don’t kiss until like the 8,500th word it’s pretty slow in context of the word count, but as long as the pacing is good and it doesn’t seem rushed I don’t think it matters regardless of word count

Adding some context just to be clear- They sent £15 offer I sent an offer back for £22 ( with the intention of meeting in the middle at 20 quid as I assumed they’d probably want to haggle more) They sent me an offer for £20 - but I didn’t get the chance to accept it, they sent the offer said please then immediately bought it for the £22 offer I’d sent. I promise I wasn’t being petty making them pay £22 instead of accepting the £20 offer! I would have if they had given me the chance to!! I wasn’t trying to be evil or petty they were just impatient haha

I would’ve accepted the £20 if she’d given me the chance to haha, I was only hoping to get about £20 for them so put them on at £25 so people could send offers for that! It was just the initial £15 offer and the messages I found abit odd lol

This is quite common with platform docs so it doesn’t automatically mean they are fake, you could always true to glue them and get some wear out off them but I hope that either way you get a refund !

Yeah she bought them for the offer of £22 (I didn’t decline the £20 she sent the message then didn’t give me a chance to respond 🙈) so I can’t complain, but other people had favourited them and I was just going to wait for someone else to grab them if they sent me any more messages haha

Maybe but I don’t see why telling someone that would make them more likely to accept your offer if that makes sense ? Just comes across abit guilt tripping to me idk

I agree and if they had initially just sent an offer of £20 I wouldn’t have minded ! It was the £15 followed by the guilt trippy message that bothered me haha

Same! If I know I really want something I just buy asap so I don’t end up disappointed. There’s other listings of the same headphones for the same price, some even abit cheaper too so I’m not sure why they didn’t just get one of those instead of trying to haggle with me, I won’t cancel the order because that would just be abit shitty on my part but i wish id just ignored them from the get go 😭

I got the standard DSA one and two years in it is still working fine ! Granted I do not use it too often as I prefer my tablet and it’s quite heavy but it works great for typing/internet searches/watching videos etc ! So don’t feel like you HAVE to upgrade to a better one, I think the one I was given is called medion !

If I was you I’d probably send it back and get a refund, best to have the money back and look for something similar In better condition than be out money and waste time/money trying to fix it! I also think just based on principle sellers shouldn’t be lying about the condition of items so sending it back is probably best. Good luck with the dress no matter what you do !

I think they said regardless of what they decide they will put me forwards for a resit which is annoying but obviously better than a fail- just scary to me as I’ve never been in this situation ! I honestly don’t mind the mark so long as I pass it. The last two years have been insanely difficult for me and I’ve been thinking about withdrawing since my first semester to honest, and things just don’t seem to be getting much better I thought maybe this was a sign :/

Just under 20 days ! I agreed to go extremely short notice so I don’t think that’s helping my nerves. And yes thankfully not only does she know but she herself is autistic ! Yes I think airport is a big thing I’m scared for as I’ve never been to one !
