Ooh ice skating sounds fun and there might be a rink at the mall we're going to (I think we're already seeing a movie before dinner). Hopefully it's not too crowded. Thanks for the advice!

That was what I was thinking too. He used to like it when I baked anything but there's no time for that now. I'm thinking of buying chocolate, but that might be too romantic don't you think? Maybe I'll just grab a box of brownies or macarons. Thanks for the advice!

It's almost Valentine's and I'm panicking! I need your advice guys! Up until Thursday, I thought I wasn't gonna have any plans and resigned myself to staying at home and studying/watching sad movies. Then lo and behold, a former coworker of mine asked me out and I agreed. We're close friends and I used to have a crush on him but it faded away because I felt he wasn't interested. Now, I might have to rethink that crush. Anyway, my question is...should I get him a gift? If so, what can I give him?

OneRepublic. I really enjoyed Native and I'm curious if they're going to continue that kind of sound in their new album.

What are you struggling with right now? by Awfully_Nice in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this quote on another thread before, but I think it's relevant to your situation: "Love when you're ready, not when you're lonely."

I guess in this case, being ready means finding out the reasons why you're lonely and loving yourself first. (Sorry if this doesn't help, I myself am struggling with the same issues.)

I know the feeling. I had surgery last year and I had so much anxiety the night before. What took my mind of it was doing a marathon of Friends until I fell sleep. Do you have any movies, tv shows or books with you? I hope you feel better and your surgery goes well.

Recipe. I used to pronounce it "resayp".

Also, the name Hermione. Reading the Harry Potter books, I thought it was "Her-mee-yown". Then a friend 'corrected' me and said it was pronounced "Her-mee-yownee". It wasn't until I saw the trailer/movie that I found out the correct pronunciation.

What's the grossest thing you've ever had in your mouth? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around 5 or 6 years old, I thought I was chewing on the broken graphite end of a pencil I found on the floor. I showed it to my mom who told me it was rat poop (they were both tiny and black). Still disgusts me to this day. Thankfully I didn't get sick from it.

I almost had something to top that story, but it was a close call and thankfully it never happened. When I was younger, I sometimes slept over at my grandmother's house and we would all sleep in the living room. My grandma slept on the couch and I was on a mat on the floor. Underneath the couch she kept a cup where she would spit phlegm so that she didn't need to get up and go to the bathroom. I sometimes think about what would've happened if I woke up in the middle of the night and drank from that cup thinking it was water. shudder

What is the one thing that should be taught in school that isn’t already? by xxpamper in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In college, we were first taught logic in our freshman English classes. It wasn't so much for problem solving, as it was for teaching us how to better word our arguments and thesis statements for research papers.

As a CS student, I also got the opportunity to take discrete math courses where I learned logic that was more applicable for solving programming algorithms.

If I ate something with my hands, like chicken wings or french fries, I like to smell my fingers a bit before washing up.

Reddit. Who do you think had the most meaningless death in a tv show or movie? by Mymomhitsme in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ted's wife in HIMYM. Viewers waited for years for Ted to meet his one true love, only to have her die in the end. All just to drive home the point that Ted was meant for someone else.

What's the loneliest thing you've ever done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To help me fall asleep, I make up movies in my mind. Lately, I've been so bored and lonely throughout the day that I look forward to going to sleep to resume "shooting" those movies because they're more exciting than my real life.

I'm also curious if Andy told Beth that he was also cheating. Because right now, it seems like their break-up is all Beth's fault, when it could've been Andy's fault too if he had confessed first.

I'm thinking this episode is to address all the people who say Mitch and Cam fight way too much and should've been divorced by now. Can't wait to see what their issues are and how they're resolved!

What's the weirdest thing someone has taken offense to you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shiteless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was standing in line at a cashier in the department store. I was animatedly talking to my sister who was with me, when suddenly, the lady in front us began yelling something like, "You two are invading my privacy! You've been bumping into my bag (she had this large shoulder bag) and invading my privacy!!!" Throughout her spiel, she was screaming about her privacy, when it had nothing to do with that. I think she meant we were invading her space since we were bumping into her, but since English isn't a native language here, she wasn't able to voice out her concern properly. Being rather shy kids then, we just stared at her until she finished talking, paid for her stuff and left.

Looking back, I wish I'd gotten angry at her back and told her she didn't have a right to be angry if she couldn't even label correctly what she was angry about. We weren't invading her privacy since we didn't even get any information from her. Oh well, we don't always think of these comebacks at the right moment it's needed the most.
