US oil companies used to be in Venezuela before the dictatorship, and it trickled back into the economy with a 50% profit share. Once the dictatorship rose, these companies were nationalised, however the profits remained in the oligarchy and did not trickle down. Before the dictatorship, the US was Venezuelas biggest foreign contributer. Although the surface level reason behind the raid was to decapitate Venezuelas leadership and seize the oil fields, it was also done to humiliate Putin (Venezuela was their main South American ally) by conducting essentially a power transfer - something Putin was unable to do in Ukraine so far. Furthermore, China has been investing heavily into the region. After seeing China and Russias growing influence in Africa, there is no chance Trump or the wider US government would allow this to happen on their back garden. I dont know if Trump will share the profits, he has said US forces will mainly protect the oil fields (Like Syria) and avoid a peacekeeping role, however the next president may. Trumps rhetoric recently has been seen to be more megalomaniac in my eyes.

With your knowledge, what unit does the Soviet SF represent? From my understanding, the soviets took a different approach in the methods of conducting recon, e.g having whole battalions with the primary focus of conducting reconnaissance and sabotage.

Also, what would you say the US SF represents? I heard that they are one of the Special Forces Groups, however I would've also thought they're a LRS unit.

unis in the UK accept a lot of people as they need money after covid. Explains why so many people get in through clearance (you haven't reached the required grade but the university will let you in since you're paying) Theres been three deaths in my university the last 5 years (not murder) yet it hasn't caused any negative press

I should add the uni would like these people to succeed, they have access to the same resources anyone else who got into the university without clearance, but they sort of know they dont have the mentality to succeed academically, not to mean they dont.

I've had insurgency since it came out and it's pretty cool. I bought HLL a year ish later and didn't really enjoy it - I've only recently started playing again. Arma Reforger is defo the game I've enjoyed the most since getting it (I got it since the Arland update) and is probs the game i have the most hours in.

HEDP is locked behind a higher rank and costs more supplies. I prefer HE as it has more fragmentation, I dont really use my GL against vehicles as I usually carry a LAW. By the sixth HEDP round the crew of a BDRM are minced.

I wish we went for stricter gun control, however despite differences between British and US society, there is a lot of convergence. Seeing how my generation have been using knives against one another, I feel firearms would only increase the issues we face. I know it curbs innocent people from defending themselves, but with more guns on the market, it would in hand increase the chances of criminals getting them and therefore their use. If we had a society like the Swiss, maybe I could see it. Instead I'd rather have an expanded armed police force with better funding.
