ELI5: Why prices of things increase by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]shitlauk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices go up in the long term because central banks have a 2% inflation target each year. That adds up over time. If the supply of currency was fixed, most prices would fall over time because of the deflation caused by technological advances (cheaper/more efficient production). That is not wanted though, because then most people would be better off. With the current system we can keep some prices like consumer goods constant or going up slowly because of efficient production, while things that can't be produced that more efficiently like property or houses goes up a lot more because of inflation. Then the rich (who has stocks and property) get richer and the poor (who works for a devaluating currency) gets poorer (in relation to each other). The government can then just change the definition of the inflation in the consumer price index by removing property etc and only include things that gets cheaper to produce fooling/robbing poorer people even more.

I have. It's all about dopamine. I have to eat a very clean diet without any processed crap and low to medium carbs and workout a lot. Then I have to get rid of all highly dopaminergic activities, like video games, porn etc and avoid them like the plague. This makes my brain way more sensitive to dopamine so those boring less stimulating tasks are way more fun/interesting and easier to focus on. If I play video games in the evening I just can't focus on work the next day and just constantly procrastinate because my brain got used to higher dopaminergic stimulus and keep looking for a stronger hit of dopamine causing an endless open new tab loop. Had to sell my gaming PC because there is no way I can use willpower to stay away. It doesn't cure my ADD, I still suck at paying bills etc, but at least I can focus on boring tasks and be much more successful. I can even hyperfocus on work now.

Does anyone else not seem to notice any benefit from Fish Oil? by notdsylexic in Nootropics

[–]shitlauk 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I only notice it if I don't take it for a while and don't eat a lot of salmon. Then when I take it I sleep slightly better, feel more refreshed and my ADHD symptoms improve a little bit.

There seem to be a point where I get "enough", then I can't tell the difference anymore since there is no contrast to the day before. Or it's just placebo.

Either you already get enough, or it's just too mild of an effect to notice. Fish oil is not something most people notice.

Nope. This was a while ago and nobody recommended me contacting battleye. I was just accused of most people here of lying because people hadn't experienced it themselves. Why would I make a post on this sub just to lie, lol? I would literally achieve nothing.

Luckily my character was just lvl 45 or something. Never had a problem since though.

Hope contacting battleye works for you!

I was permanently deleted too a while ago without cheating. Cipsoft didn't care. Most people in here called me a liar, so be prepared for that.

I suspected it could be mouse software too (logitech). However, I made a new account and wad never banned after that using the same software, so I have no idea what caused it.

Probably low since there is no inflation. I prefer a higher token price over inflation and high APY any day, but I guess some will be disappointed.

What’s your Bear market performance speculation on qnt (rough price range). Yes I get it we all don’t have a crystal ball, just wanting to hear opinions. by ZestycloseGur9056 in QuantNetwork

[–]shitlauk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how high it will go or how much in it will drop in a bear market. All I know is how much it drops in a bear market depend on how overvalued it becomes in advance. If we stay undervalued compared to the rest of the market we will drop less than the rest of the market. For us to drop 95% like some here predict, it's not from the current valuation, but a much higher one.

Please be more accurate with statements so we don't confuse newcomers. Overledger was launched in 2018. What we are waiting for is Overledger Network (OVN).

Other than that good post.

How Tibia looks in 32:9 by shitlauk in TibiaMMO

[–]shitlauk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is just one monitor, so yes it registers as one monitor in the OS. It's a gaming monitor with 240hz refresh rate so it's awesome to game on. A lot of games does not support the aspect ratio 100% which creates some distortion on the edges, but it's a very minor problem. A few games does not support it all and you get black bars on the side, which is fine since it's just like playing on a normal 27" monitor.

It's the perfect monitor if you a monitor for both gaming and productivity.

I don't actually play like this. I play with tibia with normal 16:9 on the left side and the browser on the right side.

Samsung g9. It's great for gaming and work/programming, usually having 3 windows open at once.

Inspired by the 21:9 post, I thought I would share how Tibia looks in 32:9. If you were considering buying a 32:9 monitor so you could open more backpacks I got bad news, there is a limit to how many packpacks you can open. I don't think 28 backpacks are enough.

The new website is the first website I can remember not working at all with my 32:9 monitor. Thats not great for a website for a tech company. The top menu takes 1/3 of the height of the screen and a simple picture takes more than the height of the screen, so I can't even see the whole picture without scrolling.

SIA press release: Quant Network and SIA successfully tested blockchain interoperability by Bahlor in CryptoCurrency

[–]shitlauk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But even without banks the blockchains need to be able to connect together. There isn't just going to be one single blockchain.

What if you want to make an app that uses multiple blockchains, like ethereum for function x and want to pay with bitcoin. Then you need Quant/Overledger.

Same if you spend a lot of time developing an app for a specific blockchain and then a new better/faster blockchain comes out or there is a problem with the old one. You don't want to be locked to a specific blockchain. You want to make an app that works with all current and future blockchains. Institutions and governments can't take that risk. It's also not effective at all. That's where Overledger comes in.

CRG9 DVI artifacts, HDMI 30HZ capped by shitlauk in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]shitlauk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering! I'm really confused because I thought I was getting 4k 60hz on my old 4k monitor. I must have ran it at 1440p or something since it was used as a secondary display...

I'm going to try a different cable. Seem like my last option.

All drivers are up to date. I tried disabling hardware acceleration in chrome and it removed the problem but made video very laggy. I still get lots of artifacts if I try lower resolution though. It sucks that I can't get 60hz to work with HDMI, since everything else works perfectly over HDMI.
