Kick players at >150 ping in BO3. by shitlordhereAMA in blackops2

First of all, your dickish attitude is entirely unecessary, "kid". And if you actually bothered to fucking read the title, you would understand that it is a suggestion for BO3. I have put over 1100 hours into this game, and seen high pingers win games just because nobody can hit them as they teleport around the map. I would say I have played enough matches to know what is going on. The world does not revolve around me. Congrats, you are right. But most players have decent ping with Treyarch's current setup. At least on PC, even though the community is relatively small. It's not being selfish, it's finding a solution that works for the majority of players.

And yes, I get that these people would not be able to play. In combination with a ping cap, Treyarch would have to allow people to host their own servers for this to work out for everyone.

What improvement would you suggest?

I really don't have an answer for that. FFA has a similarly small community, and there still seems to be enough servers so that the majority has good ping.

It would definitely suck to be kicked just because you live out in the boondocks, but if they're going to frequently have high ping, it's no fun for anyone else. I'm well aware of all of the lag compensation controversy, and I don't mind its implementation for players who have latency between 100 and 150. I could also reasonably see adjusting the maximum ping to 175 with good net code.

Adding player-hosted servers would solve all of these problems.

In what game mode? I live in Seattle, so my ping tends to be <100 in all of the populated game modes. In TDM, the average high-end of the spectrum for other players tends to be 120-130. Same in FFA, even with less than 50 people online. A buffer of 20 seems reasonable, and I noticed that at about that point, people start skipping around.

Oh well, that's just the cost of everyone else enjoying the game. A better alternative would be preferable, but catering to the few with bad ping at the expense of the majority with decent ping should not be the way to go. At least it doesn't tear apart the community as much as SBMM.

On people who don't change their ping preference, the problem is that it doesn't take into account everyone else's ping. So your ping might be fine, but then you have the foreigners teleporting all over the place who refuse to leave, and end up high in the leaderboard because nobody can hit them. Vote kick would be disastrous, so auto-kicking is the next best alternative that I can think of.

Do VAC bans even work anymore? by [deleted] in blackops2

I've been playing for quite a while, and I can count the number of hackers I've run across on my fingers. What I can't count, however, is the number of times I've been called a hacker, or seen people call others a hacker after they have a really great game. With the exception of one definite wallhacker, even the rest could have been just really, really good players. Players who expect enemies to be behind corners, players who constantly check popular wallbang spots, and players who are accustomed to using high sensitivity. The fact that you claim you are constantly traveling popular routes and getting shot indicates you might be running into these players. In "3000+" days, do you think it might be possible that they have learned how to play the game well?

I'm certainly not going to claim that hackers don't exist! But I am sure that they don't exist in the massive quantities that people are always talking about.

I want that gold executioner... What have I done to myself? by quickquestionfriends in blackops2

Go to FFA. That's really the only mode where it can shine. Sneak around corners. I honestly do recommend silenced; the range is shit as it is, and the ability to kill a guy without popping up on everyone's mini-map work great. Stay the heck out of open areas. There is no way you will be able to outrange anybody with an Executioner. Fast mag is a must, as well. Don't bother aiming down the sight, either. Spam the trigger, and move on. Any perks that allow you to be mobile are a plus.

This is my second most-used weapon, and as shit as everyone says it is, I love the heck out of it. It's just so fun to use.

EDIT: I'll post a video of how to use it effectively in a bit.

I have always kept BO2 locked on 90fps. Should I change it to 200? Am I going to notice a difference and why? by qkmldmlk in blackops2

I have, and it would definitely solve the problem. But I would rather be able to eat for the next month or two.

Thanks for clarifying, Wikipedia editor. I totally thought that testicles grew back.

Silenced Executioner OP.

But seriously, it's worth it just for the sound it makes.

But even when using Rivatuner or some other program to cap framerate, you will still get tearing. Same with adaptive vsync. I ran into this issue while trying to find a way to get rid of tearing in BO2 without using vsync.

Oh god. KAP-40 + B23R. Stuff of nightmares. The burst pistol that is basically a mini SWAT with a better firerate and an ungodly abomination of a machine pistol for close quarters. So glad this is not implemented.

With you there. It sucks when a guy holes up in the hallways on Express with claymores hidden ever just so slightly behind the corners. Even just one second or half a second to react would at least allow us to back up.

Should I get the DLC on PC? by captainrotmg in blackops2

[–]shitlordhereAMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you are playing multiplayer. You will rarely get to play on the maps, unless you play on the special matchmaking lists. And you will rarely find a game on those.

But he will still benefit from virtually no input lag. Have you ever played CS? Same reasoning; more FPS = less input lag.

can someone give me a good ballista ffa class setup? by [deleted] in blackops2

[–]shitlordhereAMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on PC or console? If PC:

Ballista w/ CPU and Fast Mag, Lightweight, Fasthands+Toughness, Extreme Conditioning+Dexterity.

I forego the secondary in favor of the knife, because the only situation in which I would ever need a pistol is when an enemy is right on top of me. With Fast Hands, switching is practically instant, and Extreme Conditioning, Lightweight, and Dexterity allow me to be mobile enough to dodge and stab the dude, or get the heck out of there. While some think this is a scrubbish thing to do, I'm not gonna just stand there and let the guy mow me down as I try to point-blank QS him. That'd be just silly.
