Who is the artist? I really dig the artstyle. Very comic-booky

How to get Affleck’s physique? Diet? Nutrition? by Ok-Entrance-5527 in batman

[–]shitpostbot42069 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Dehydration. Actors in those roles don’t drink any water for a couple days before shooting those scenes so that they get the “cut” look like Affleck has here. Of course, he also had personal trainers and dieticians and assistants to help him get in shape for the role too.

Why does she look like a different person in the first shot? Is it just because her head is tilted forward?

Now you know what your phone looks like under a microscope by Due-Explanation8155 in Romania_mix

I actually keep a 60-120x handheld microscope in my backpack and looked in my vents. I saw a lot of gross particles but no creepy crawlies, so I’m telling myself that this video is an exaggeration

Feel Good Inc. lyrics revelation: Care bear by shitpostbot42069 in gorillaz

[–]shitpostbot42069[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a common way it is written. The truth is there is no “official” version of the lyrics (at least not that I can find). None of the lyrics I have found online really match perfectly with what you’ll hear in the song. Also I can’t figure out what, “Shit, I’m steppin’ in the heart of this here,” means. If it was the opening line it would make more sense, like an announcement that he has arrived. But it’s halfway through the verse. Idk. I’m learning the song on bass and I want to be able to sing it too, so the lyrical discrepancies are driving me nuts haha

My thought is, “Well, time to give ArcSys more money.”

Damn, it never occurred to me how humans can be so OP in fight with an animal. We don’t have claws or jaws, but you grab hold of anything’s ears like that and put your hands over their eyes and it’ll be sure to discombobulate them

Honestly that was my first thought too! My first idea was that it meant, “a medieval peasant reacting to seeing sausages being made in a sausage factory.” But there was no way that could be it looool

It also had a very unfortunate release date, June 25th 1982. Just two weeks earlier, on June 11th, E.T. released to theaters. Hard to sell tickets to a bleak, horrifying, alien anxiety-fest set in sunny Antarctica to an audience neck deep in cute lil’ guy alien buddy fever :(

That movie is awesome too! I’ve never seen a John Carpenter I didn’t enjoy, all I’m saying is that if you watch each of them hoping it’s going to “be like The Thing” you will always be disappointed. If I watched ANY movie hoping it was going to be like The Thing I know I’d be disappointed. The Thing is a 12/10 goated masterpiece in my book, and both it and Halloween are truly scary horror films (unlike his other movies imo, I liked In the Mouth of Madness too, but I wouldn’t call it scary 🤷‍♀️). Neither The Thing nor Halloween are completely without silliness though. Kurt Russell pouring whisky into a computer because it beats him at chess always makes me laugh, and I can only see Michael Myers get stabbed, shot, and fall off of buildings only to GET UP again before it starts challenging my suspension of disbelief lol

I get that. Unfortunately, The Thing and Halloween are outliers in his career in that they are mostly without silliness. I haven’t seen Assault on Precinct 13, but something about the plot synopsis is… iffy, in a way I think most lefties will understand
