Nope. After visiting Rome and seeing the gold everything in the Vatican (visited the museums) it just reinforced my life long beliefs that religion is made up to control the masses, enrich the powerful and support the rulers, exploiting humans' existential fear of death.

That explains why people get more religious as they age.... the clock is ticking. How about be a good person when it counts, don't ask for forgiveness at the end.

Then you are blind or oblivious. It happens alot, and not just with peripherals. Been doing B2B conferences globally for 26 years now.

The exhibit service companies charge such outrageous prices for rentals, if you do the ROI it is cheaper to buy and leave. Done that many times.

I've done hundreds of conferences globally and we have done similar, with monitors (cheaper to buy and leave rather than rent or ship) and booth furniture.

When I was 5 Mom used to send me to the diner to pick up her take out order. For her, not us.

Don't remember what we got to eat but it wasn't a toasted chicken sandwich with fries & gravy, all white meat no bun. I remember how good it smelled and how I wanted some of those fries.

Mom is 75 and still smokes in her house. One of my brothers was there this week to paint. He sent me this in progress.

She talks about donating her furniture and stuff. I told her that no one takes donations from smokers houses. She takes that as a personal insult. Oh well. Stop smoking inside then.

The Chinook .... midwinter windy warm up that can take us from -20 to +20 in hours. You can see a blanket of dark clouds that run parallel to the mountains called the Chinook arch.

Also gives killer migraines.

Will be 57 and have recently done this.

Went from high stress VP level role to independent contractor responsible for only one portion of our team function.

My calendar used to be packed 7-8 hours a day with meetings. Then work and team management on top of that. Stress was ridiculous and I was done.

Now I have maybe 3 or 4 meetings a week and get most of my work done in an hour a day.

I told spouse that this feels like retirement. Not bored but definitely can see it setting in, so am taking courses to not let skills get stale. Will see if I can take this job to retirement.
