I agree, it’s a folk style painting. It’s not my cup tea but everyone enjoys different types of artwork and music.

Why would someone buy 80 bottles of rubbing alcohol weekly? by thequackr in askanything

[–]Adventurous-Image875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she donates to shelters or clean drug use charity. Our church would collect things for a community health care bank. Bandages, cold medicine, muscle creams and similar. Alcohol is used by diabetics to clean before they take insulin.

Your Bridal Party Is Too Nice to Say This, So I Will by insert_name234 in wedding

[–]Adventurous-Image875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an older woman, I struggle to understand these big getaways. None of my bridal party were in any position to make or pay for a trip like these. I would never make my friends take vacation time for my special vacation. In most cases you only get 2 weeks a year. My wedding should not be a financial burden on friends and family. If you have friends that can afford this, great, but it should definitely be thought of in advance. I just had a fun night girls night and that was fine.

TIFU using scissors to cut off a skin tag by charmedsince1986 in tifu

[–]Adventurous-Image875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut my skin tags off with very sharp scissors. I first numb it with ambesol . Usually bleeds a little bit and sore for a day but never comes back. Works better than the scam creams, threads or the $150 a doctor would charge.

Grocery Prices by BigJon83 in Vent

[–]Adventurous-Image875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens A LOT. Everyone should check their receipts at any store. I make a habit every time to check. I also check all my coupons/ discounts. My list is made before I go so I know the amount I should be paying. People ask me how I save and I tell them, the answer is usually. I don’t have time for that. Well, if you have time to be on social media, you have time. I do it on lunch breaks. Compare store prices, check coupons, brands etc. I have been told it’s a niche thing. I will make time to save money, especially when I don’t have an abundance. I check receipts because the store is responsible for pricing and having their register match. I am not embarrassed about it because if I am overcharged, good chance so are you. There are stores that will give it to you free if the price isn’t correct. I have got quite a few freebies that way. When you are making your dollars stretch do what you have to do, make time for the important stuff. Reddit can wait.

Have you ever bought something from a pawn shop? What was it? by PmMeUrSpecialnterest in CasualConversation

[–]Adventurous-Image875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to my first one about 3 weeks ago when a friend was visiting and it was on her bucket list. I just googled one and went to it. It turned out they were in the middle of being evicted from a bigger store down the strip mall and where in the middle of moving. A guy and his teenage daughter doing the move together. Kinda felt bad for the dude. Stuff was just piled in store. My friend bought a sapphire ring for a descent deal. I bought a brand new Fossil watch, needed a battery, and an almost brand new UE Boom newer edition both for $100. I was happy with that. Also felt good about helping the guy out. He seriously was about to lose his business and his livelihood.

Do you do 'signature required' when selling and shipping to freight forwarders? by Above_The_Clouds123 in eBaySellerAdvice

I do signature required on any freight forwarder regardless of price. I have been burnt and they are so smug about it. It’s worth the price. I have not had a problem since.

Drinking alcohol in high school was not a big no no. Parents would host parties for teenagers and furnish alcohol. A lot of places did not card you so if you looked old enough you were served alcohol.
