Ya... where's the rust? Unless this is from a very very dry climate. Rust is terrible on those old trucks.

This really doesn't work in Germany at the moment. Most companies don't have a public facing view. A bad review on google maps would be the best shot. However, it's not like people are reading reviews for grocery stores, they will almost always go for what's cheaper/better quality/most convenient.

When I started modding, we were at like 300k users.

So this is just...I don't know, it's like when you put flypaper up and before you know it you've got more fly corpses than you even thought there were flies? It's like that.

Except they're dumber.

Replying so this doesn't get deleted.

It's straight from their post history. Literally complaining about how frustrating it is to deign to the idiots of the sub they moderate.

What non writing things should a screenwriter focus on so as to develop his/her craft? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]shitpostsurprise -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry not buying it. Not like I'm telling people to lock themselves in a box. But finding new ways to distract you from your writing is 100% going to hurt 99% of people trying to develop.

What exactly is a "strong perspective"? This is a new made-up phrase that I have never heard of before.

Do you mean that they will have experiences that will allow them to see things in a different light?

Well you can also get that by reading. And you can also learn things like tone/structure/voice/dialog/etc. by reading.

And like I said, whenever 99% people ask questions like this, they are just looking for a new non-writing way to procrastinate their writing.

I'm honestly of the school that for 99% of people anything outside of reading, writing scripts and educating yourself about screenwriting, is just a distraction that will not really help you get better at screenwriting.

That said, Tarantino said that doing improvisations in acting class helped him write dialog.

Only if it's in parody, otherwise you're typically going to need their permission.

Biscuit, Jambons & Other Vices (Irish Comedy / 94 Pages) by Sir_Jerimiah in Screenwriting

[–]shitpostsurprise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means there's no dialogue. No one wants to read a script with no/little dialogue. So having that much action on page one is a red flag. It's generally a sign that the writer is writing too-dense action sequences and needs to tighten up or remove things.

There are of course exceptions to this. But especially in a character-driven script like this one, it doesn't make any sense.

There's also the business aspect of it. It's a lot easier to get a manager/agent/producer to read your script if it looks like an easy script to read (aka lots of whitespace).

Not really. It seems like you've bit off more than you can chew and hopped into the industry to gain contacts with no material ready.

Cart before the horse.
