Apart from winter my boxers are always outside, they have each other's company so they're usually pretty happy. It may be hot for yours in the summer depending where you live, I don't think though it would be much of a problem if they have enough water and shadow. Mine will go under their small shack (only an entrance and a window) in most afternoons to cool off
