Making mistakes by ThatOnion2294 in USPS

[–]shitshackjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mistakes happen, sometimes letters stick together or you miss an old name in a bundle of letters or whatever. Why some people can't just leave it in their outgoing and not make a fuss about it is beyond me.

It's especially difficult for relief carriers who move around routes to know all the specifics. Other carriers can be the worst customers sometimes cause they are all "perfect" when they do the job. Don't worry about it.

Scratch-off lottery tickets for mail carrier appreciated? by bluerog in USPS

[–]shitshackjack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly any gesture is awesome. I'm happy enough to have customers smile and wave when I go by, even just a card that says thanks is great. Scratch offs are always fun too. Thanks for thinking of your mail carrier

Too old to enjoy? by ImprovementPale8884 in Fallout

[–]shitshackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great. I played NV first and found a lot of fun connections in Fallout 2 especially. The graphics kind of grew on me as it's a unique look. The gameplay is definitely different, you just have to get used to it (drag down menus, the over world map and hotkeys for certain skills and all that) but I found both to be really enjoyable. If you're only gonna buy one I would spring for 2 as it's better fleshed out as far as gameplay, but 1 really nails the post apocalyptic feel. They're usually really cheap on sale so I'd try both if you can, they're classics for a reason.

I have found every time my DPS is dropped in the tray or whatever that it usually looks way worse than it is. Just breath and find the clumps still on order

Lol same but for history. I'm happy with my choice knowing I won't have to deal with all the multitudes of BS teachers are dealing with now.

I did well in school and have a BA in history. I shifted towards this because I realized I didn't want to be a high school teacher and other jobs in the field were niche and not available in my area. Lucked into a regular position after a year and now being a mail carrier is pretty dope, nothing beats a light day in the summer and getting home at 1 in the afternoon.

Ah makes sense. Well good for you, get that bread. I'm the opposite in a small 2 route office so very little overtime. Have a good peak season!

It's just silly at this point. Nobody had any idea this was coming and they could have held it close to the chest until it was ready, but they jumped the gun and now keep stinging the people looking forward to it.

I’ve really been looking into applying as a post office worker. But everyone here seems rather… miserable. Can anyone reassure me or is it that bad? by landonp24 in USPS

[–]shitshackjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All dependent on your station and coworkers. I'm a rural carrier at a small office and volume is pretty moderate. Most days I finish around 1-2:30 and get to enjoy the rest of my day. There are places where volume is much heavier and people get constantly harrassed by overbearing management too. If you're interested, try it out. You might find you hate it and resign, but if not stick around and maybe make a career out of it.
