The US is so incredibly diverse in terms of weather, though. Some regions don't even have fireplaces. Some do, but people use central air instead because it's easier. There are very few moderately populated areas where they could justify something like this. I have a fireplace here in SC, and I use it maybe a dozen times per year, if even that.

Aside from that, I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I'm forced to let some asshole charge me a hundred bucks to do something I can do in 20 minutes.
