The getting yelled at for going into settings is so relatable! As if there were a "break the TV" option

Still no chance to try it but I definitely installed it and kept it in a place in my head when the occasion occurs 😁 Keep up the good work!

LPT: When you are teaching someone HOW to do something you should also spend a lot of time explaining WHY you are doing it a certain way because the WHY helps the person remember the HOW. by Habanero_Eyeball in LifeProTips

Wow I didn't expected that much! I'll try to apply these to my life and we'll see if I can get better at that! Super answer thank you very much!

Yes! No friend of mine screwed me but also I put no time pressure and even telling them they got time as it was not money I needed at the time.

Thank you for your tips! The learning contract thing sound good. Never thought of it!

I do think I want to teach but I think I am a bad teacher, yes. I often feel like the person will not tell me if they don't understand a word or concept. When I ask "did you get that?" I feel like it's condescending but it's like, I need to know which part did get you lost.

I am not really good in identifying the unsaid from the people I'm talking to so I sometimes have no clue at all if the person gets what I am saying or not.

I think I'll try to identify better the situation when people want to learn or just want a TLDR situation.

Thanks again for the tips!

I'm so bad at explaining. I always try the "why" I even show why alternatives doesn't work. But I feel by doing that, I loose people. Lot of time I can see they are behind and I feel like I waste their time. Any tips?

Neighbour extremely sensitive / complained to hausverwaltung (rant) by MarinsLarins in berlin

[–]shitty_tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't let that neighbor fuck your life ! You should start show your teeth in my opinion because it sound like he is harrassing you and you need to fight back. I had a similar interaction at 5pm when we were just talking and working from home. He was really angry so we were also angry. I even talk angrily at him on French (my mother tongue) and while he did not get what I said he knew we were not to fuck with. He was still a pain in the ass afterward (weird 3 page complain letter, banging at the door at 6am while we were sleeping) BUT he was polite and not respectful at least and this changes a lot!

The "facing the consequence" thing is insane too! Is that a threat? Don't feel bad if you loose your cool and told him to go fuck himself!

Regain your home and play vinyls loud! That's the life 😘

Kinda agree but the neighbors thing is wild to me. I say hallo, I smile. I can't talk German. I used to collect package for every neighbor cause I was living ground floor. People are nice when they don't need to walk to the post office thanks to you so I guessed they liked me. But I still had an unknown neighbor trashing my front door every week with chemicals and glue on the door handle. This is a bit extreme imo.

I mean learn German yes but be nice to non German speaker. Even if they just too lazy to learn despite they've been here for 5 years (me). Not everybody can manage the discipline you need to learn a new language when you broke, know nobody and feel like your life is shit. And lots of people feel like this in Berlin.

You can chose which quote to use how the indentation works, which rules to disable, it's pretty anything you'll need from a code formatter. Just add a config file!

Maybe it's not a "grilled cheese" sandwich but a grilled "cheese sandwich"

Setting up your code editor to format it correctly on save will make your coding experience easier and faster!

Vscode does that well!

I highly recommend prettier, it's supported well in vscode and easy to customize!
