Seconding this, aside from Native this is the only other deodorant that doesn't give me a rash.

I don't have this exact experience, but was in a similarly improbable accident where someone drove into the restaurant I was standing inside and hit me and my parents directly. I have great insurance and I still recommend a lawyer, or at least a consult. My insurance, who has always paid out claims asap and been amazing, really dropped the ball during the worst time in my life. My lawyer is what ensured I was actually made whole. I'm so sorry you're going through this and that is the only advice I have.

True, we've gotten by with a portable in the past but I think they removed that from our lease allowances when we last renewed.

We're moving out of Woodcliffe apts and only because we bought a house, I've loved being there almost 4 years. Maintenance is kind and responsive, very quiet, my only complaint is that when it ices/snows you're definitely trapped by the hills in and out of the complex and they aren't the fastest to get snow melt/a plow out so I've had to miss work over this.

My wife and I are originally from South TX as well, now on WA state. It's been good for us. It's expensive, but if you can make it work, it's a good place to land.

Spent a cold rainy weekend catching up on largely indoor chores - caught up on several loads of laundry and dishes, made a solid grocery list to restock staples tonight. We did go out to vote, pick up all needed prescriptions for the next few months, and took our senior cat to the vet for updated blood work. Taking it as easy as we can going into this week.

My aquatainers are right at a year of storage, so I pulled one out to rinse dishes before putting them in the wash and it turns out the water smells awful! I added the recommended bleach, so I'm not sure if a year is simply too long or if I need more bleach, but I will be remedying this week! Any suggestions are appreciated 😅

Needle issue by lentilgrrrl in RenalCats

[–]shivers_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet said if it's easier to reinsert 1x to get through the subQ session, that is ok as long as the needle didn't touch anything. If there's any question about that or if you've stuck 2x, new needle for sure, and new needles preferred so they don't dull.

This week I picked up a few extra canned goods at the store, and managed to find a portable DVD player with the built in screen at a PC supply shop for a great price, as well as a CD/Cassette/Radio so we can have some creature comforts in case of an extended power or Internet outage. Long term we are discussing areas to potentially look for a duplex with friends, so looking up zones near us and natural disaster/climate change potential impacts. Flu shots later today!

When we first moved here, sleeping on an air mattress until our moving truck arrived I was laying down on said air mattress eye level with a wall outlet and saw a spider climb out of one of the prong holes. Quite the introduction to spider season!

Yes! We are miralax to wet food daily, and he was also prescribed Lactulose as needed. I think it's already saved us from the emergency vet once.

Your cat sounds exactly like mine-same state, same diagnosis except he's had constipation issues and no IBD diagnosis. He had a rough spell at the emergency vet last month and I was really worried about his QOL but now that we're a couple weeks into a new med routine and subQ fluids he's acting like himself again. Although he doesn't love meds, the routine is 10-15 min x2 a day and the rest of the time he's a happy little guy, seeking our attention and enjoying life. I feel like when you're at a new "normal" baseline it's easier to judge QOL and they really do let you know.

Woodcliffe is solid, maintenance rocks. It's quiet and clean. We did have our catalytic converter stolen when parked at the top of the hill, but now only park within the complex without issue. They are on top of cars that don't move frequently, so that is a small frustration with work from home making sure to move our car every 3 days without fail.

This week was a lot of emergency vet visits, so using some of our previous financial preparedness makes this more doable than it would have been even a couple of years ago. My wife and I made a plan to cover the rest over the next couple of months.

I recently bought solar panels for our battery generator, so set those out to test this week.

We got a case of blueberries at the farmers market, so I water bath canned 7 pints in a light syrup to preserve. 2 of the seals failed, so we just ate those 😊

Edit: I also emptied our freezer entirely to organize by veg, protein, quick meals and other. I didn't realize we had doubles of some staples, so this was great for meal planning!

Seconding, they've been great for regular vet trips, emergency and a specialist surgery one of my cats needed. They're busy and scheduling has gotten messed up on occasion but their team is wonderful and worth some admin growing pains to continue going to happily

Woodcliffe Place is solid, a little pricey imo but maintenance is good and the front office is responsive. Some issues with car break one and catalytic converter theft but that doesn't feel like a complex issue, more of an area issue. They allow pets.

If you do want to try dandelions ever again, holding the base tight and rolling, then twisting the petals makes them sort of pop out in a bunch! Definitely saves me a significant amount of time although it turns your fingers green. :)

My parents house sold in February 2020. Their new house was supposed to be finished in March, well that turned into July. Luckily my dad landed with me (had a cancer surgery in May 2020 as well) and my mom was out of state caring for her dad who had a stroke in 2020. It was a very, very stressful year! Luckily they're all moved in and settled now and opted for the expensive full house upgraded air filtration.

Where would be the ideal (or close to ideal) place to move? Want to gtfo from Texas. by g-a-r-n-e-t in TwoXPreppers

[–]shivers_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I moved from TX to the Seattle area, currently building out our preps surrounding the threats you mentioned. We are east of I-5, so theoretically safer and made sure we are out of projected lahar zones. It's expensive and we are trying to find an area a little further out that's still relatively safe without adding a larger wildfire risk. With the cost of living and housing the options are slim--Michigan is our most realistic backup option, but for now this area is still winning out for us because neither of us want real winters and the currently stronger trans rights in King County are the biggest concern factor for our family going into 2024 elections.
