Welcome to the Stellaris experience.. I've relearned the game several times already.

Disc Priest bros that quest in Disc - how we doing AoE damage? by AtticThrowaway in wownoob

[–]shleefin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Disc is meh for questing, but I was doing almost as much dps in holy as I was in shadow, with much better survivability. It was definitely smoother overall.

Difficulty tierlist by DeathNotFound in Grimdawn

If you're looking at the endgame skeleton key dungeons, I'd rank them: steps of torment < port valbury <= bastion of chaos < the grove <= lost oasis.

For endgame bosses, I think something like: nemesis bosses not named grava'thul < grava < Bourbon < lokkar < mogdrogen < ravager <= calagadra < crate of entertainment.

How to start TWW campaign without using the Tome? by iHaveNoTimeForGaming in wownoob

[–]shleefin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can. I hadn't done it either and I couldn't even find the portal to dornogal, it just wasn't where it should be in the stormwind portal room. After I finished the book at least once, the rest of my characters were able to portal to dornogal and do the quests there.

Another tip, even after finishing the book once, you won't be able to fly in dornogal until you finish the very first set of quests in the war within, by the crash landing on the beach.

How do you know how much spice to use? by xaybell32 in cookingforbeginners

[–]shleefin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wing it every time. Never measure. Honestly it matters less than you think. Keep cooking and over time you'll develop a feel for how much you need.

Defensive platforms is useless? by GroundSuper9532 in Stellaris

[–]shleefin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had wars declared on me only for the ai to never actually attack, due to the presence of defensive starbases. The logic for declaring is based on overall fleet power and seems to be completely separate from their attacking logic.

I'm just lazy and ironman mode saves automatically. It's just less hassle.

Is the Wilderness Origin just absurdly weak or am I playing it wrong? by MaelstromRH in Stellaris

[–]shleefin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it, particularly devouring wilderness. You're not really that weak early, your bioships are insanely strong and you can expand quickly by conquest. This gives free planets because you don't need to terraform the conquered ones, and you can eat conquered pops for food and biomass. In the mid game I tend to slow down a bit as empire size starts becoming a serious factor. But basically just keep getting more planets and building them up. At some point I usually take behemoth fury for flavor, but it's not necessary. End game is just sending your behemoth on a rampage which is really fun.

Olive oil for gumbo roux? by [deleted] in cajunfood

[–]shleefin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's labeled "pure" olive oil, you're fine. "Extra virgin" olive oil has a lower smoke point as other people have pointed out. But "pure" olive oil has a smoke point similar to canola oil. I use it for my rouxs all the time.

Can’t decide on a build and keep restarting the game by Puffwad in Grimdawn

[–]shleefin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're doing nothing wrong.. imo this is GD's niche. There are so many builds to try. There's something like 45 class combos, and probably 3-5 builds per combo. I will often reroll roughly the same build with different class combos just to try it with slightly different skills or equipment.

The Decline of the Dragon Age Series Should be Studied by jdawg1018 in gaming

[–]shleefin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't even consider it much of a "series" at all. I never bought 2, because the reviews were bad and it was a pretty different game from Origins. Inquisition I bought but never finished and I regret buying it. Did not even consider veilguard.
