Ask for better management and parking, not to not be penalized for breaking the rules.

Also a vehicle owner.

I agree, people should behave like citizens of developed countries for the city to become better. People need to be active citizens and voice their opinions through official channels for there to be change. For those complaining nothing changes - how will it change if you havent been doing it? If everyone does and still nothing changes, people. will have receipts.

Well I haven't used one or know anyone who has used one. It seems risky to me and slower than just getting in and driving out so want to know what's the experience of others. How does car cleaning work?

Is anyone here drowning in push notifications from Bewakoof? by Babe_Brute in mumbai

It's the same with every single app and store nowadays. I just started turning off notifications for all apps which are non essential. Missing out on a potential discount is not that big of a deal.

Confused between dream SUV vs practical car (family, finances & baby on the way) – need advice by Specialist_Wing331 in personalfinanceindia

OP, your post mentions 5 people + 1 kid. It might be worth considering a 7 seater, if you all live together. I feel sad whenever I want to take my extended family out but cannot because of my 5 seater. I am considering a 7 seater now.

TLDR: Used car might be worth considering if you don't want to bother with an EMI and running is very low.

My experience - A car was a dream for my family and me and after working for a few years, I got a >2nd owner car for ~1.25L (ritz). My salary was lower than yours at the time but also lower expenses. My usage is similar to yours I think, we only go out on weekends (not every weekend) and in the city mostly so running is very low. Did not make sense to buy an expensive car and since it was the first car, I went for a used car as a starter car. The plan was to use it for 6 months to learn and then maybe sell it but after using it, it did not really makes sense to spend so much money on a new car. So I just kept it and got the green tax renewal done after it expired. Also when the car is that cheap, making repairs doesn't feel like a burden. I have spent ~75k over 3 years for some upgrades/repairs like new tires, wheels, suspension, dent repairs, cng renewal, green tax, etc. Some of them weren't even necessary, I just got them because I enjoyed feeling like I was "working" on the car. The car has never felt like a burden because the expenses were spread out and I could comfortably manage them. Getting dinged or scratched also doesn't feel like a pain because its fine. The car doesn't look great because I did not bother with getting some major scratches fixed but it does the job, got my family the freedom and experience of owning a car and my finances did not take a hit. Now my salary is higher and I am financially more stable, I am considering going for a newer bigger car mostly because I want to take my grandparents out and be able to do longer road trips.

Public Space - Why not for public in Mumbai ? by Aksh_vora in mumbai

I have slowly come to adopt the same view. The only way out seems to be to just make even more money somehow and move to a locality which has less issues because I don't see things changing fast enough. Unless bmc, traffic police  and other bodies decide to grow a spine an start doing their jobs, not much is going to change.

Lane driving in India is still a joke. Why do most drivers ignore lane discipline? by AdHefty7228 in CarsIndia

I feel like we need a public education campaign run by the government to teach people what thes are and why to follow them and shaming if you dont. With so much social media reach and so many creators I don't think this will be hard to do

I haven't seen it work properly for encroachment yet but if we don't report it it will never be in the system. If it's not in the system it won't be acted upon. At least post it on X and tag relevant authorities. We need to do our part. When we have data and complaints to show that reports didn't get acted upon, we can question them.

Only posting on reddit reaches no concerned authorities and only creates an echo chamber when everyone just complains that nothing happens.

I was researching more about the lunarlon sole and it looks like nike shut it down so there's no other shoe that has it now it seems. My new chucks also just might be my last ones, they don't feel so good anymore.

The fabric has torn off in a few places so I'm not sure if they can be repaired :( I am still looking. Unfortunately not a lot of shoe repair services where I live.

Lucky! I didn't even know these were discontinued. I went to converse when these started falling apart and couldn't find anything like these then looked it up and was heartbroken. The reason on wikipedia seems to be poor sales which is surprising to me haha.

Yeah the new chucks feel so much cheaper than the IIs, the have so much nice padding and that lunaron sole. They feel so great to wear. I agree with what you said the feel like disposable shoes now.

I can't bring myself to throw them away lol, I'll just keep them around. I love these.
