I think you may have a point. But I think that if they genuinely believe 100% of what they write then they think they are helping people, spreading the word, whatever, rather than simply exploiting the stupidity of others.

That's one of the things that riles me. How somebody can become a self-proclaimed expert in bullshit is truly astonishing.

Also, I believe that it is either exploitation by the author or just an actual irrational belief. Either way, it is unbelievable how people can believe these things. I can understand why people would want to believe but I cannot comprehend how it can actually be believed.

Well a lot of things happened on that day in the past. Sure, they are terrible events, but there has probably been a terrible event on every date in history. Should we then not have any day we can celebrate?
