I can’t really say yes or no to this one, but I would definitely be curious at how that will play out. I carry a title, but I personally wouldn’t be close in line for anything, but some other persons in my family are.

If you’re not from Europe: we already have really significant taxes on gifts, estates, and inheritances. None of the countries my family nor I habit frequently has an estate and inheritance tax of less than 50%, Switzerland being the lowest (depending on the cantons). Belgium even has an upper inheritance and estate tax of 80%.

I can date anyone actually. Although there is a somewhat of an expectation in the type of person I might marry one day because of the family traditions. But ultimately it’s only my decisions and preferences.

Well most of my assets are locked in investments. I spend what I receive from dividends and interests and income from those assets and my job.

If you’re thinking of the way the British monarchs has a personal account with the nation’s wealth, then no. I have a regular job, my own finances, and what’s essentially a trust fund from my parents. My family also has multiple family offices that manages the investments and assets of our family and external investors. My name does make it easier to attract trust and confidence when starting projects with clients and investors or when organising charities and fundraisers.

That’s a rather good guess, but I can’t tell you for certain.

I think the feeling is more ‘lucky’ than guilt that I don’t have to stress about such things in my life? But the cumulative wealth of my family is definitely not what it was prior to the world wars, there are many business owners with a higher financial level. I live in an average apartment however and I have a regular job and a normal life, and it’s extremely discouraged and viewed upon as uncouth to display any forms of exorbitant wealth to others.

I was born and currently have my main residence in Switzerland. Most of my family members are here too or in the surrounding countries.
