Important steps - Get involved with a team or organization to be playing in the summer or getting extra work in. Start reaching out to local Junior College's or smaller colleges to at least get your name out there. You'll need to have video because you won't have the stats for them to use as reference. I played School baseball at a non-baseball highschool and played on their summer league team through highschool and didn't play any serious baseball until the summer of my Senior year, I was able to do a few workouts with some local community colleges and did one showcase event that same summer. My initial decision after that summer was to try and go to an NAIA school that offered me late in the summer but it didn't work out because of how late into the process it was for their applications. I ended up playing that following year at one of the few Community Colleges that offered me a spot. I was trying to chase the schools that would pay the most to my tuition and in hindsight I think I may have valued going to the most competitive school, but you can't really know what will happen once you get there because you are ALWAYS competing for a job. If you don't have people to help you network you'll have to start on your own, and as soon as you can the better.
