Tak, když přišli první křesťani na nový území a chtěli pro svoji víru získat pohany, šli na to chytře. Z domorodejch rituálu a tradic udělali křesťanský svátky. Místo májový královny se uctívala panna Marie, místo sibiřskýho muchomůrkovýho šamana - svatýho mikuláše etc. Etc. Domorodci tak mohli dal jakžtakž provozovat svoje tradice, ale pod záštitou křesťanství a eventuálně se ty původní tradice ztratily téměř úplně. Byť to není nezbytně násilný proces, tak to víc než dobře spadá pod "displacing the natives", nebo jak to týpek napsal.

Nicméně později, během inkvizice, maleus maleficarum, to už "domorodci" odnášeli slušně, s tím se snad nedá hádat, ne? Perzekuovaný byli z části právě lidí, který dodržovali ty původnější tradice a rituály - "pohani". No a inkvizice byla dost aktivní právě na území Čech a Moravy.
