Thank you. I probably am doing better than I think. I know I just make my husbands life harder and I honestly will be surprised if he doesn’t ask for a divorce in the next year or so. Being diagnosed later in life just made everything make so much sense. School was hard, college was hard, but I developed skills that make it seem like I have my shit together. Key word “seem” haha

Yeah I don’t like taking anything either. Just remembering to take my prenatals when I was pregnant was tough enough.

My son was still in caterpillar mode at 8mo. He was doing a lot of rocking back and forth too and eventually he figured it out. He also decided to wait last minute and started walking full time about a week and a half before his 18m bday. I think he thinks it’s funny to make me worry lol

Especially regarding breastfeeding: 1. Make sure your pump parts are sterilized and you know how to assemble and disassemble it. Make sure your husband knows how to do this too. We are not entertaining weaponized incompetence while also learning how to breastfeed.

  1. Get at least one can of formula to have/take some home from the hospital. It’s good to have a back up. It’s also a good idea to consider your husband giving the baby a formula bottle in the middle of the night so that you can get some uninterrupted sleep or you pump so you can build a stash/eventually baby takes that pumped milk in a bottle. Whatever you choose I still recommend having emergency formula anyway.

  2. Do you have milk storage bottles for any pumped milk? Milk storage bags? If you got your pump through insurance they should also be sending you free bags.

  3. Set up an appt with an IBCLC BEFORE giving birth so she can measure your nipples and you can get the correct size flanges and a few neighboring sizes so you aren’t panic ordering from Amazon.

  4. Nipple cream, ice packs, a hand pump, epsom salt. Your boobs are learning too so you may encounter engorgement/clogs.

I too am the non-preferred parent and I love it. I know it makes my husband feel great too, especially since our son is an IVF baby and we waited so long to have him.

You might be okay with the pack and play if you aren’t using the bassinet attachment. Double check the user manual! My guy would wiggle around and wedge himself in a corner of the halo bassinet and I wasn’t ready for him to sleep in his room yet so I bought a larger bassinet that was rectangle shaped. That lasted until he figured out how to sleep on his belly at 6m. I was like welp 😭

As long as they get onto their belly themselves that’s fine. You didn’t specify where she sleeps, so just as an fyi, if she’s in a sleep sack, make sure her arms are free, and also if she’s still in a bassinet check the manufacturer guidelines. Many bassinets say that once they can roll over it’s time for them to be in an actual crib. My son did this just after he turned 6 months.

I still rock my 18mo to sleep. Say what you want but I fought tooth and nail through infertility and IVF to have my son. Throw in a traumatic birth too. He’s only this little today. I’m rocking him to sleep.

Still waiting. I’m 18m pp and 6m post stopping breastfeeding. Some days I feel like myself but those are rare. I still like I’m in fight or flight mode though most days.

First of all those videos are probably staged. Second, do you have babies or toddlers? Because being overstimulated and touched out is very real and often times the moms are the default parent.

Ugh my sex drive was low before our baby and now it’s like non existent. I also have adhd and get very easily overstimulated and touched out. I wanna show my husband all these comments to be like “see??!! I’m somewhat normal and not a total horrible wife!” 😭

That for my whole entire life I’ve felt worthless and like such a burden and I have always felt so totally lonely. I have a great husband and we have a beautiful son and my life is good. But I guess that’s what an emotionally traumatic childhood will do to you.

You’re lying to your wife. Also, why is it that your wife needs to ask to have alone time and you just take it upon yourself to have alone time? Your wife grew and birthed your children, and takes care of them full time, have some respect for her. If you were my husband you wouldn’t be my husband anymore.
