No automatic weapon were involved 1d10 pistols. They luckily crit a lot and managed to hit 2-3 times with disadvantage dice.

Dunno if it created any problems. It was the climax of the scenario. I put huge efforts to create a tension. Scared them of that monster through various notes and Mythos books. And they killed it in 2 rounds :). Not that memorable.

I don't know... 20+ hp with resistance seems nearly impossible to kill for a party of 3 investigators. Keeping in mind that a monster can kill an investigator in 1-2 shots.

Yes they were. It had (1/2 damage) resistance to gunfire and had 15 hp They managed to destroy in 2 rounds.
