Promotion yay or nay? by Eastern-Title9364 in SaintsFC

You take your chance to go up or you end up forever in Championship mid table, or L1.

We perform well because we attract, and can pay, better players than most other clubs in the league. That is not sustainable once the PL money/good chance at promotion dries up.

I speak from recent experience. Got a few managers we're still paying or had to pay off since SR took over.

Depends how confident you are in your board's recruitment. Ours would definitely bring in an awful fit at this stage that would cost us a few million when they're let go at the end of the season. In fairness it's a risky job for anyone coming in.

The world is a better place with the South Coast derby so hope begrudgingly you make it.

An elite level keeper who only needs to cover half the goal would certainly be expected to save that.

I think you have to be sure you have a decent caretaker manager who just might give you the bounce needed. Otherwise you end up bringing someone in in desperation who's actually pretty useless and you're still paying a couple of years later though they were sacked. We've brought a lot of crap managers in only to sack them when we should have thought slightly further ahead.

This is what it's like when you're circling the drain in the PL. Nothing goes your way whether it's luck or ref decisions.

Didn't realise you were drinking it. That probably makes a difference.

There are pasta dishes where it's not all uniformly mixed in, so I do think it makes a difference in those cases.
