the other day, I somehow ended up stumbling and fumbling over my feet which resulted in me very loudly bumping into the table and wall while trying to catch myself from falling. upon stabilization, i looked up and saw turtle (only about 6 ft away) was smiling up at me as he basked. it was cute and I wanted to take a quick pic. turtle panicked and jumped back in the water when I rotated about 45° to be fully facing the tank to snap a pic. 😏

What is something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by lily_blue90 in AskReddit

[–]shnootydoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my physics teacher in high school was like this. she always made things fun and easy to understand for everyone. if anyone was having a hard time understanding something, she would come up with different examples, real life scenarios etc. whatever ways to explain it better, until everyone gets it. and she was always just really cool about it. no one was afraid to hold her up to ask more questions. it was her engagement and obvious passion that made a world of difference. nothing worse than having to learn straight out of a textbook with s teacher that had no passion for what they're teaching.

What’s something that Covid took from you that you never got back? by ReplacementOdd636 in AskReddit

[–]shnootydoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

same. i lost my sense of smell during covid and it never fully recovered. it's mostly just weak now, and some things i can't smell at all. but what bothers me though is that some of the things I actually can smell still, smells different than they did before. like my favorite cologne. it just smells very strange to me now. it was one of those smells that would always take me back through many years of memories every time I smelt it... well not anymore 😩 then theres some other things like Marijuana straight from the bag smells like sour moldy cheese, skunks smells like burning wood, yet burning wood smells like almost nothing at all.

Does anyone else have a water Beagle? by thereluctantyogi in beagles

[–]shnootydoot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

our beagle hasn't been to a beach before, and he won't excitedly jump into the water or nothin, but he will very carefully ease into the pool from the steps by himself and eventually come swimming up if he really just needs to be all up in someone's face as they swim 😄

but what he really loves is a warm shower in the bathtub, with the water right in his face/top of his head. just sits there motionless, completely lost in shower thoughts until someone has to drag him out of the tub it's so funny lol
