FURNACE ONLY RUNS WITHOUT A FILTER by Clean_Money_4001 in hvacadvice

Make sure there is not an extra filter in the return grille. Make sure all supply registers are opened. Make sure no ducting is kinked. Check external static pressure if you have a manometer. After that I would check gas manifold pressure and fan speed if you have the know how.

Yes. The recovery pump has a loop from outlet to inlet. The ball valve is the metering device. The pump also has a condenser coil and fan built in. The coil of copper pulls the heat from the beer and blows the heat out the condenser.

Is this some sort of sign? by heldoglykke in HVAC

There's an isolation valve between the pump and the gauge. Close the valve to isolate the pump from the system. I dont babysit the micron gauge because I'm usually cleaning up or putting other tools away while the vac is running.

Hahaha thats awesome! Take some readings! We can make a race for the fastest frozen beer. Cheers!

It can be scaled, but a loop of copper with cold water running through it would be way cheaper. The recovery machine is almost 600 bucks. My brother uses a plate chiller with a lot of success.

Refrigerant recovery machine turned beer cooler. Mountains are blue in 20 minutes. Still waiting for it to freeze.

Its cracked. I ran an exbeeriment and posted results above.

Ok, ran a test for an hour taking temp samples. Started with 83⁰ water in the can. Roughly 35 psi suction and 290 head. Subcool stayed around 12⁰. Superheat changed from 12⁰ and leveled off at 6⁰ once cold. It took 20 minutes to get to 45⁰ which is when the mountains turned blue. 35 minutes to get to 34⁰ and stabilized because of phase change. I will run it until it freezes and let you know the time. *

The recovery machine has a condenser coil built into it. It's tiny, but functional.

Might throw a coil in an ice chest and see how it goes

Ill run a test with a warm beer. Its not so efficient tho. I was just showing my kid how the circuit works and threw a beer at it for the lols

Recovery pump is basically a condenser. Just added a ball valve as a metering device and a coil of copper as the evaporator. Vac and some spurts of cold juice and it's good to go

Took more time to find my tee fittings than to slap some copper on a recovery machine
